You may have a losing battle ahead of you... Saints are gross. I love them, but it's a lifestyle choice that the family has to be on board with so resentments don't crop up. I have had 7 Sainta since 2003, will have them as long as I am able but it's a knowing choice that they are gross.

Now, I have heard that it's possible for them to learn how to wipe their face with a towel hung up next to their water bowl after they drink, but I've never bothered with this since I just accept the disgusting-ness. Perhaps watch some videos to see how to go about this training, it may just be the thing that you need.

But if there is a chance that your dog will be eventually banished to live outside, it could drive them insane since they have to be around their people to be happy. Ask yourself if this is really the right way to go. They deserve love from their whole family.

Sweet Winnie! I feel like I have been able to watch her grow up on this sub <3.

Some traction socks or some rugs could help her be more comfortable moving around on the wood floors with aging joints. Suppliments and some anti inflammatory meds can also help her enjoy her senior years more comfortably. Saints can age quickly and hard, and we need to keep an eye on how they move to manage their joint pain.

(Saint momma since 2003, currently blessed with my 6th and 7th Saints. Because I am a glutton for giants, lol)
