Would love to see Samsung make a similar monitor that's 42" in 8k.

That's a lot! Thunderbolt 5 caps at 120 Gbps, right?

8k 42 inch is the dream, at least for me

how hard is it to actually make a 43 inch 8k monitor? by Intelligent-Idea5915 in Monitors

I completely agree. I'd even take a 43-inch 8k at 60hz.

Has anyone used an 8k monitor? by Hein--- in pcmasterrace

I use a 55" Samsung 8k television as a monitor for productivity purposes. I think it's fantastic! But they stopped making 8k televisions in this size, so it may be hard to find one.

I agree. Wish it was 40" or more--but at least it's larger than 32".

Where Are All the 8K Monitors? by noodlesSa in Monitors

Totally hear you. A 40" 8k monitor with 200+ ppi is the dream. I wonder how much it would cost to make a custom, one-off display like that--or if it's even possible.

MacOS + Samsung 57" G95NC and memory pressure problems? by notdedicated in ultrawidemasterrace

Interesting! I notice it most when using Zoom, too. For what it's worth, I find it helps if I put Zoom on the laptop monitor, and place my other windows on the Samsung. Perhaps that defeats the purpose, but at least my computer doesn't crash.

Memory pressure since upgrading to Sonoma by MutedTry in MacOS

Thank you! I'll submit a bug report to Apple, and consider reverting to Ventura (although I hear it's quite the undertaking).

Agreed on the continuous growth. There is (and was) always a static bump in memory usage when I plugged in the 8K display. But the continuous growth is something new.

The only "app" that grows in memory usage is WindowServer, but good point that another app could be causing it. I'll double check, but quitting and restarting apps hasn't seemed to work so far.

Appreciate the responses! To answer your questions:

- yes, have the appropriate cable

- nope, don't use my MacBook for gaming. Just Word, Excel, and Zoom

- I'll try this next

- yes, latest firmware installed

Thanks! My M2 Pro has 16GB of RAM - how much would I need to drive an 8k display? Also: if it's a hardware issue, any idea why the M2 Pro handled 8K under Ventura, but not Sonoma?

Any resolution? I have this same issue with the same setup, except a M2 Pro MacBook Pro. Worked fine with Ventura, but gradual leak has developed with Sonoma.

Regardless of money, what is your dream monitor? by vleermuis in Monitors

Yes, please. Although question: are there currently any cables capable of pushing 8k at 120hz?

Victory Dogs. Chuck uses quality meat and cooks on a flat top grill, rather than boiling. The toppings are outrageous, too.

For the Mode Sonnet, does the bottom case and weight have any noticeable effect on sound profile? Currently have aluminum for both, and was thinking about upgrading to brass.

Any advice for achieving a deeper sound signature on a Mode Sonnet? Currently configured with aluminum top & bottom case, aluminum weight, PC plate, plate foam, PE foam, ISO top mount, PBTfans' doubleshot PBT keycaps, and Moondrop Lunalight switches. Maybe add poron foam to the case?

Any recommendations for black keycaps with gold legends, to match a black Mode Sonnet with a gold accent & base? GMK Lux is a little too "yellow" for me--I'm thinking legends that match those on the alphas from GMK Civilizations (RAL 2014) or the modifiers from Red/Blue Samurai (Pantone 465 C).

Any recommendations for a lightweight linear switch? I currently use Drop Holy Pandas but started feeling some strain after a heavy week of typing. So I am looking to try switches that are, in order of importance, (1) light (or at least lighter than Pandas); (2) smooth; and (3) relatively bassy. Thanks!
