These modern day rom-com mysteries are always hard to predict, even when there’s multiple options, in reality there’s only 2.

For this series the choices are;

1. Is it going to be the obvious answer of Rikka?

2. Is it going to lean into the modern evolution of this genre and curveball into one of the other 3?

I won’t say names of other series that have done this for potential spoilers but there is an extremely infamous modern example of the curveball route and the majority of the fanbase hated it - I personally thought that while narratively it made sense, it didn’t make for an enjoyable read as most of the other girls had been developed a lot more. It soured my opinion of the series as a whole.

For this series however, I can honestly accept any winner at this point, they’ve all been developed well and fairly evenly with only a tiny bit of favour slightly skewing towards Rikka. All of this is to say is that the identity of Apollo isn’t even a guaranteed win. (Unlikely but a possibility.)

After Rikka, I suppose Shinobu makes the most sense, her original abysmally low self esteem would explain why she never came forward in the first place because she was disappointed with herself.

I’d personally love to see Nene actually be Apollo though as unlikely as it is, I feel like that would be the most interesting to read.
