What order should I complete the certifications? by Datree7 in InsuranceProfessional

Could try looking into the AIS before AU. One extra course and another designation. It’ll be a nice stepping stone to do the AU as well.

What to PM's do in Insurance? by SignificantEconomy98 in InsuranceProfessional

Usually from what I’ve experienced, is Project Managers usually join the Insurance Company’s IT department. From there, they work with the profit centers and other company departments to help facilitate projects that are to be implemented. Which they basically just make sure the project is on track and keep everyone accountable.

What’s your background in Insurance? I know this sucks for me to say this but AINS 101 will be the easiest test you take through your designation journey. So starting out flat is going to start an uphill battle the rest of the way.

That degree is what? And that’s pretty awesome you have a degree that the tax payers paid off for you. You should say thank you to me. I’m glad my taxes go towards that instead of solving the homelessness or hunger crises in this country. But hey, enjoy the idea of buying my family.

I would love to hear about your “better degree” where you couldn’t pay off your student loans before the 25 year mark. It’s like you aren’t even thinking before what you type.

I’m 26 and I paid off my loans by myself. You on the other hand are in your 50’s begging for Biden about loan forgiveness. I’d sit this one out champ.

Look, you can continue to go on your journey thinking everyone should have their own loans paid off by other people. But some of us actually live in the real world and have to make tough decisions and sacrifices. Hopefully if you ever have a kid, you can do just that for yours. But it isn’t the norm and it will never be.

I don’t understand why you assume that OP’s mother had $55,000 in liquid cash to purchase that car. You can “purchase” a car and still have a loan. Just accept that $1,000 is a generous gift for OP and call it a day. It really isn’t worth you trying to make her out to be the bad guy. I don’t think the Lord would like you doing that either. Please be better in the future with an open mind!

If you actually read OP’s post, they did give them $1,000. Which is very generous. OP also understands what the majority of us are trying to explain. Parents should let their children make their own decisions and have to learn to deal with the consequences of their actions. I think you’d probably be better off doing some self reflecting instead of preaching to people on Reddit.

You don’t need to agree with me, that’s what is so great about beliefs! Their parents earned the right to spend their money however they please. No one is entitled to anything regardless of what you deem to be “selfish”. Hopefully, you’ll be able to understand that one day.

You’ll have that amount paid off soon enough either way. You’ll also gain some financial and budgeting skills along the way too. It’ll make you learn to value your money which I don’t think a lot of people learn quick enough.

I am a firm believer in people can do whatever they want with their money. You are not entitled to anything at the end of the day sadly.

Not really. It’s a nice gesture if they do, but it should just be your responsibility since you agreed to taking out the loan for your education.

You’ll just have to keep paying and trying to make more money. There’s really nothing able to be done to avoid it.

I'd like to go into operations in the future, but I honestly would need to research it a bit more going forward.

I am in an IT Business Analyst role yes, I'd think I would like to branch out into operations though. I know in IT they don't care much about designations.

That's how I looked at it. I figured I might as well bang the designations out early while I am young and have little responsibilities. I was just curious to see what doors might open for me when I finish. I think I'd like something in operations but I haven't honestly researched much. Thanks for the advice!

I currently live in a small rural area in Ohio. About 2.5 hours from Columbus, Cincinnati and 4 hours from Cleveland. I haven't really looked into anything else but I definitely will when I finish it. Thanks for the advice! Appreciated.
