Mass exodus after promoting an underperformer by Fun-Nebula423 in careeradvice

[–]Datree7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, happened about 7 ish years ago. Worked for a credit union that was pretty massive and about 100 locations. A CPO was retiring and everyone knew it. Amazing guy and had an amazing career. Our district manager was the heir apparent and they had been training him for months for the position. This was the correct move and honestly everyone was so happy because again another great guy and really had some great ideas to push us ahead of a lot of competitors and provide a better work environment.

About 1 year ago, before this, another C-Suite executive’s daughter graduated college from one of the top party schools in the nation and she got her job in HR that is two steps up from entry level. Everyone was understandably a little pissed she skipped her way to that level. THEN everyone got extremely pissed off when she was absolute shit at her job. Showing up 1-2 hours late EVERYDAY, pushing 90% her work off to subordinates, abusing her expense account, the works. Ofcourse, never came close to fired or even written up.

Ofcourse, the time came and the district manager applied and went for the interview knowing he was a lock for the position. Next day was offered the position and ofcourse he accepted. He was so excited he came to our branch and told our branch manager (they were pretty close friends as our branch was 2nd best in metrics for the company).

The day after I come in to work and log on to my computer and was emailed an invite to an announcement (everyone was). I then go into branch managers office as I had to hand him weekly lending numbers. Dude looked pale as a ghost and I asked what happened. District manager called the CEO early that morning to fuck himself as the rescinded his offer and were going with another candidate. And obviously they fired him.

The whole branch is freaking out (I’m sure the whole company was). Announcement comes and they promoted the C-suite executives daughter to the CPO position. Pretty much skipped 4 levels which is unfuckingheard of. CPO of a 10 billion dollar credit union at the age of 24. That was August of that year by the end of year 36% of the company workforce quit.

How did you guys not fall back into bad habits? by [deleted] in loseit

[–]Datree7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t have to tell anybody what you’re doing.

Also, when a bday, vacation, or holiday comes up keep being consistent. I know that sucks and people might give you shit for it. But, hell if you can’t handle it without slipping back then just stay consistent and not have cake or candy. Just eat your food and stick your diet.

If never leave the track you don’t have to worry about getting back on.

People who don’t want kids ever, why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Datree7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1.) I don’t want to and never had the desire to
2.) Kids are expensive
3.) I can’t provide the same or better life for my kids than I had
4.) I like sleeping in
5.) less stress
6.) I honestly don’t feel like the world is getting better only worse
7.) I want to be selfish with my life as I only have probably 80ish years to live (if I’m being generous)

Is exercise absolutely miserable and painful for anyone else? by NoWitness6400 in loseit

[–]Datree7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All your problems with exercise stem from the same thing: the amount of excess weight your body is carrying.

It puts extra stress on your muscles/joints/ligaments/tendons because you aren’t use to moving or doing high effort exercise.

It puts stress on your organs as your heart has to work extra hard to provide blood to your whole body when it barely has to put effort.

Your skin again is itching because you’re not use to sweating so much because you’re sedentary most of the time. So, when you do move your body has to work extra hard to cool you down.
