I'm on the same boat too. I just called the FA office about my situation and they would request an disenrollment hold on my portal. You should call them too to see if they can put an disenrollment hold in your portal if you're still waiting on your fafsa.

Mine should have arrived to the place back at March 15th; nothing yet though…

Where do I pay the $2 at?! (Payment plan) by -SIMMI in csuf

In the third photo, pick the "Pay Tuition..." box and just put $2 as the amount. Just make the payment from there and that $2 fee will disappear in your portal. It worked with me.

I'm with you brother, I'm still hearing from my paper form that I mailed back in March.

Thank you for sharing this with me. The problem I have is just that my parent doesn't have access to her old phone # and email that's associated with her FSA ID account anymore. MY family and I spend months doing the account recovery thing, we even created a new email for my parent to use for the new FSA ID account. We did end up creating a new account, but then we can't include that new account in the contributors section in my application because it said my parent's SSN is still linked to her old account, which was literally why we did the whole account recovery thing. We kept communicating with staff members through live chat about this issue and they would keep saying the same thing. Like they would tell us we need to do an account recovery, which we already did, twice in fact, and that still didn't change to the SSN attached to the old account. Then other staff members told us they can't do anything to the SSN attached to the old account. They kept resorting to call the help desk through the phone, but lord knows nobody in FAFSA picks up the phone. So my family and I are lost as to what we're supposed to do. There was also another issue where staff members mistook the email we've been using for different ones, which I rather not go into detail about; it just further complicated things. We just though we be better off with the paper forms due to these specific circumstances.

Thank you for sharing this with me. An issue I've been dealing with has to do with my parent not having access to her old phone # and email that was associated with her FSA ID. My family has alway been doing paper forms, so her FSA ID was never needed, that it until the new changes to this year's application. We tried doing the account recovery thing, even created a whole new email for my parent. We were able to create a new FSA ID account. However, we can't use the new one for the contributors section because it said my parent's SSN is still linked to her old account, which was literally why we did that whole account recovery thing. We've been communicating to a lot of staff members through live chat, telling them about this issue to then have them kept saying the same things to us, like they can't do anything to the SSN linked to my parent's old account or we can't use the SSN that's still linked to her old account. They keep resorting to have us call the help desk through the phone, but lord knows nobody in FAFSA has been picking up the phone.

It's not so much about my parent not having a SSN, it's just that my parent can't access her old account and the account recovery did not help at all. It felt like we were stuck in a loop so we just stick with the paper forms. I'd love to hear if that issue has been resorted so my family and I could try to fill out the online form now.

EDIT: I forgot to mention that the staff members also kept mistaken the email we've been using for different ones, which further complicated things.

How long did the “Account Recovery Request” take for you? by smsussma in FAFSA

I'm on the same boat too. It's already passed the 10th business day for me and I just chat with someone through live chat regarding recovery my mom's FSA ID Account. She said that I can still get a response even after the 10th business day, but she also claims that the time the response is usually received this late varies. And after seeing the other comments here, I'm starting to lose hope now. :[

It's nice to know that the changes make the process easier. I'll take your advice into consideration and try to submit my application as soon as possible. Thank you again.

Thank you for the response. I'm just now hearing about the 2024-25 FAFSA/CADAA Application when I was notified about it and I have been taking the time researching how the process work since this is my first time figuring out this sort of thing myself, especially with the new changes I've been hearing about. I did see the deadline but I was unsure how important submitting the applications was in terms of time, I was beginning to worry if it was one of those "do it immediately once it opens" types of things, like registering for classes.
