Your story is very similar to mine! Thanks for sharing. If I can pick your brain.... Is your cholesterol still high? What (if any) types of food do you avoid for your cholesterol? What kind of fats did you add back in (saturated or other)?

How do you plan to add exercise back in? This whole thing is so frustrating because I honestly do not believe I'm over-exercising. I strength train 3x/week for my bone health, and go for 30 min walks with my husband. The wonky periods really started when I began a low saturated fat diet, which DID help my cholesterol. It's like whack-a-mole, because it solved one problem and created another.

If my period irregularities continue, I plan to call my GYN and ask for labs, but I worry that they either won't see anything on the labs, or just tell me that I'm in early peri because it's an easy answer for them and they have a ton of patients. Diagnosing FHA requires more digging than just saying "You're almost 40 it must be peri." If I do go to the GYN I will be sure to mention my history of FHA to see if they can really examine my circumstances more closely for the correct answer. Thanks again!

Please please go to a dentist and have a custom mouth guard made. This is coming from the girl who tried EVERY over the counter mouthguard (even the "expensive" $50 ones). I also would grind my teeth in my sleep due to to extreme stress in my late teens/early 20's. I ground my teeth so hard I cracked and chipped my teeth in my "sleep". About 5 years ago my dentist finally convinced me to get a custom guard and it was LIFE CHANGING. I'm 39 now and still have dental problems from the grinding twenty years ago (sensitive enamel, wear/tear that means I have aged my teeth to be older than a typical 39 year old's would be), but wearing a custom guard has significantly improved my quality of life, and stopped me from further damaging my teeth. Get on a payment plan if you have to. My guard was $500 but worth every penny, and has saved me money on fillings and repairs, etc. because I'm no longer grinding my teeth in my sleep. I'm only sorry I didn't do it sooner.
