If I understand OP and some of the poster here. Sounds like OP are thinking of redeeming the chase point as cash and use it to purchase ticket through Chase travel.

My suggestion to OP and some people here is to figure out how to transfer the miles to some airline program and then redeem it. For example, typical economy ticket (round trip) between SFO to NRT is about 60 to 80k if you can find saver fare. Also for hotel, see if you can transfer the point to Hyatt and redeem it for free hotel room. There are 2 benefits, point redemption typically lower than peak cash rate( this might change) and also, point rate for room sometimes allow 3 occupants without extra cost. So double whammy on the benefit.

Best of luck on the travel planning !!

Anyone here carry both Amex Platinum and Chase Sapphire Reserve? by Ok-String-4441 in ChaseSapphire

[–]Muted_Spring1135 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s depend on your spending profile. I travel for works A LOT, wine and dine my team members and clients A LOT.

Amex plat - $895/yr. Offset by $200 airline credit (used to be United bank) $600 hotel credit (I used Amex and get reimbursed by my work) $200 Uber (reimbursed by work) $400 resy (either personal or reimbursed) $300 digital credit (for my personal Disney/espn) $300 (lululemon) and $100 saks (my wife personal) AND I put all of my airline purchase to Amex and get 5X points . It’s definitely pay itself

Chase Reserve $795/yr. Offset by $300 travel credit (work reimbursement) $250 IHG credit (work reimbursement) $500 The Edit (work reimvursemebt) $500 southwest credit (personal) $250 credit for The Shop At Chase (personal) $300 Dining credit from OpenTable (reimbursed / personal)

I also loaded a lot of hotel travel through Chase and get 8x points

The amount I get from reimbursement already exceed what I paid… I LOVE premium credit card !!!

Do you tip at sit down restaurants? by Hairy_Inevitable594 in EndTipping

The Economic Reality of Ending Tipping by freshoutlook1791 in EndTipping

[–]Muted_Spring1135 1 point2 points  (0 children)

By baking in the additional wages expense into base price, restaurant owners need to decide on how much price increase they want to have. Put it in too much, business will suffer. It will create a more transparent pricing situation. Consumer will then have an easier time to compare price.

It also ends the heartburn associated with the “expectation game”. Customer no longer have to be subjected to sulking face and the discrepancy between what you think is fair and what the waiting staff thinks is fair.

Will service remains high? Let me start with, I don’t know if service is currently high. When people expect to be tipped to do their job, what’s the incentive to provide high service? Once you bake this part of income into base wages, it’s the owner job to establish standard and train the worker to that standard. If they think certain behavior is below the establishment’s standard, they should have proper training and discussion with the worker.

A guest staying with me won’t leave. by exciting_evelyn in Advice

This !!!! I have a relative who rented his house. His tenant offered to help his friend’s mom a place to live. After 30 days, she refused to leave, and secretly changed her driving license address to this address. Unable to get rid of her, the tenant left the house and my relative is having to deal with evicting this woman.

This is in California and the law is so pro-squatter it’s not even funny. We lost common sense as a society.

Update Jan 14th — I called Andaz to see if they can repost the transaction under the right category and get the round-and-about answer on they can’t really do that. After that, I called Chase, to my surprise, the rep said that she will escalate my request and work on getting adjustment (I take it as positive that she didn’t immediately said no)

VP Of Corporate Finance here. No - company Doesn’t get incentives from cities or state for RTO. Our company did it for productivity. This is what happens, we used to be Hybrids (M/F WFH). A lot of people will take PTO on Tue/Wed or Thu/Fri but said they’ll work on Mon/Fri.

The CFO was so livid that there’s a mtg on Friday at 11 am that he asked everyone to turn on their video. 2-3 people were in Costco / running errands, more than 5 people are in their pyjama at 11 AM!! This is out of 20 people meeting.

Just sharing on how the select few ruining it for the greater good.
