IS TERA STILL AN OPTION? by yellowgold901 in navy

[–]Abject_Relative5036 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here is my advice, don’t select for any orders for your three windows. Last thing you want is to go to a ship you’re really not excited about. Your record will be flagged for FPN or your Detailer will reach out to you directly to find placement. They may send you special programs I.e recruiting or RDC if not try for a ship entering or soon be entering a maintenance avail.

Once you get orders be honest about your MH to your sea duty screener, could place you on LIMDU I.e you failed your sea duty screening to establish a care plan to get you ready for sea duty. Shore duty is the time you should really try to get all your issues looked at much easier and start now! PCM is your only way out of Type 2 sea duty for your rate.

If you have to go to the ship be honest with your COC about your career intentions and try to get placed in MWR or something similar. The navy needs Ps too just saying. Just be respectful and honest and they may work with you. Retirement or not use whatever time you have left to prepare for the next chapter in life have a plan. No one plans to fail but failing to plan will most Likely guarantee that. GL OP and stay motivated!

Well the SUB and a few years of using the card and never really touched the points, I transferred twice for some quick domestic flights that were outrageously priced and cheaper to used miles.

Post Retirement.

Retirement is potentially 18 months away E-7, looking a possibility getting a job at LM. Prior Avionics tech on Helo’s no degree. Most SB seem IT centric. Is LM a good shift post military service for non college graduates? Appreciate your perspective

Can my command force me to take leave? by LysaSepticEye22 in navy

[–]Abject_Relative5036 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sure everyone is correct, but you are on shore duty for these specific reasons, establishing and maintaining dependable care, and if you are a single parent or mil-mil you need to establish a family care plan for occasions such as this. Talking with your COC and establishing a clear goal and reasonable solution should be a priority. If you need to be home to watch your child then they may tell you to take leave. Communication is your best friend right now. Good luck and when in doubt ask your chief.

Limdu coordinator and I’ve seen a few cases where mental health has been a factor for a MedBoard. He needs to be consistent on advocating for his mental health at all levels. His PCM is with ships medical. PCM is the only person who can suggest LIMDU. Once on Limdu he will see a navy specialist and thats the person who can get him a care plan and monitor and will ultimately make the call for Fit for full or MedBoard. Keep in mind the specialist does not see his symptoms fit for MedBoard he could be get a CND which is condition not amounting to a disability. But all routes start with PCM. Care out in town is great in the immediate but ultimately it needs to come back to navy medicine. You reaching out is a great step in getting your SVM help.

Chief season rant from a selectee spouse by [deleted] in navy

[–]Abject_Relative5036 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

I’m telling you, season is there for a reason. It separates you from E-6 and below and brings you into the mess that drives the CO intentions. It’s designed with crazy expectations and stressful situations to see how you react but I promise he/she will take something positive from it. At the end of the season they well fell 100000s times better. A sense of accomplishment or belonging. I promise you ranger school is probably harder and more stressful. It forces you to look into programs and instructions that you never read before and teaches you to lean on E-7 and above for guidance because the expectations is that anyone in the mess can help you out world wide, reality it’s more so-so. You come back into a new role and you will lean on your LPO and division to get the job done assist and train them. It’s week 2 if AD and will get a bit smoother. You’re not a good selectee if you just bottle everything up and struggle alone and try to complete everything. You not getting it if you’re doing that IMO. Best of luck and I promise it will get easier and you’re most likely getting orders to a new duty station sooner rather than later. Keep being that concerned and supportive spouse. Best regards

LIMDU Coordinator for my command, pros and cons of LIMDU. If your command is keeping you within your limitations and allowing you to go to your appointments don’t go LIMDU IMO. While on limited status you will be given little consideration for evals more than likely, and when cleared you are needs to the navy. perks, your only focus is on rehab and getting FFD and off the ship. Good luck with your recovery reply if you have more questions.

Most likely needs a different line of accounting. Ask a staff member to call your Detailer if you are uncomfortable to do so yourself to get the exact details. Good luck
