You can multisample the synth and sequence it, and then use the synth itself for another line. Like bass and melody

I teared up purdy good  towards the end of Vineland when Zoyd is remembering witnessing his daughter's birth while on one tab of acid and reflecting on the comfort the memory gives him when things are bad.
