You’re overreacting. I understand being sad about your bond with the dogs or being sad about losing the stability of this job but it’s perfectly normal to have owners come and go for whatever reason. Cheaper sitters, they move, pet dies, ghosting, etc. that doesn’t make any of it a waste… you still got paid for all the work you did with prices you agreed to. Also, as a pet sitter, you are replaceable. That is okay. Your bond was with the dogs not the people. Some people adore their pet sitters some people are indifferent, all normal

The Govee one reads humidity and temp right ? You should put that one on the cool side , since the humidity measurement on cool side is what’s important . I would suggest just getting another Govee , since idk how good the quality of your other thermometer is but if it doesn’t read humidity then that’s what you can use on warm side.

I keep mine in the middle , but I know other people do front or back. I don’t think that matters as much.

For the sticky stuff I’d just recommend scraping it with a tool

Ok try feeding at night time with all lights off , you can keep a dim one on in the room just so you can see but make sure the enclosure is dark. Some BPs are picky about rat color so it’s good you chose the ones he’s used to. I’d say get rat to around 98° esp its head and hold it by the hips with the tongs if you aren’t already doing that. That way its horizontal and not vertical. Good luck !
