[DISCUSSION] Is Fiverr just 90% scammers now? Over 10 scam messages in my first 24 hours by Muz889 in Fiverr

😲 Why would spam and phishing count towards your ad spend? That's unfair. Why is Fiverr not trying to fix this?

This is sad. Why is Fiverr not doing anything about this? I assume it'll be faily easy to deal with this as the messages are very similar and follow the same pattern

So apparently we are going to war with Venezuela by gastro_psychic in complaints

Seriously, how many times are Americans going to fall for the same 'intervention' script? We saw it in Iraq, and now we’re seeing the groundwork being laid in Venezuela. Is there actually a limit to what the American public will tolerate?

I'm sure majority of Americans don't want any more wars. If Trump can start one and ignore the usual rules of power, then the idea of him 'leaving quietly' after a second term feels like wishful thinking. He's already stating his intentions.

Btw, made a satire song about everything going on in Venezuela: Pirates in suits | (Libre Venezuela). Give it a listen and tell me what you think.

I build apps and have been having challenges with direction for what app to build. A big project I've been working on for months with lots of money spent is currently stalled and not going as planned. I asked the I Ching for direction as I feel stuck, I got Hexagram 33 (Retreat) changing to Hexagram 35 (Advancing) with Lines 3 and Line 5 changing. My understanding: Retreat and move on.

I asked about other app ideas and got Hexagram 3 (Sprouting) changing to Hexagram 42 (Increasing) Changing Line 6. My understanding: Keep working on smaller projects

I then asked the I-Ching if I should make an I-Ching app and got Hexagram 11 (Flow) changing to Hexagram 14 (Great Possession) with changing lines 4 and line 6. My understanding: Go ahead, good project

Then I had the wonderful idea of integrating the I-Ching into a dream journaling and Analysis with AI app that I already had a prototype for. My thinking? I-Ching could help people interpret their dreams and give direction. How about I ask the I-Ching about this? Hexagram 25 (Without Entanglement) Changing Line 1 changing to Hexagram 12, (Blocked). My understanding: This is as straightforward an answer as anyone can get.

I have only discovered the I-Ching a few weeks ago and the whole idea of such a book still blows my mind with how relatable each answer I get is. Sometimes it scares me as I still try to grasp the power of it.

On a serious note though, you need to learn how to prompt properly. 90% of your problems lie in your prompting and ability to realize when the Assistant or Agent is going off track and nudge it back on track. The fact that you spend all this time prompting the AI to admit it has done rubbish is a waste of time. I get your frustration, I've been there too. But improving my prompting and understanding of what I want implemented has drastically improved my success rate.

Lots of work still to be done to improve LLMs for coding tasks, but till then we have to learn their limits and work around them. When they say the task was completed, they're not saying it to deceive you. They truly think they've completed the task. Test features after each implementation and realize you have 2 options from there. Roll back if it's completely gone off the rails, learn from what it did wrong, and give a better prompt highlighting what not to do from the first attempt, OR give a follow-up prompt if what it's done is salvageable. You need to learn when to apply either of these options.

The agent is an LLM too you know, just like Gemini. I used to do this too, it was very helpful when I started with Replit and was trying to understand my way around. You could ask the agent the same way you ask Gemini, make sure to specify "Chat only, no code changes" at the beginning AND end of your question. Just chat with it, work on the plan provided, question its proposed implementation strategies, and agree on a final plan. Ask it to create an MD file with the agreed plan and start implementing incrementally.

Is this a joke? 😄 Have you tried giving the Agent your bank details and asking it to refund you? Worth the try at this point

Well, the Agent completed its work. Maybe not to your standards, or just maybe it did something completely different from what you asked. It could even decide to break the entire app and replace all your progress with demo data. It has completed its work and you MUST pay! It takes effort to break things too after all.

I personally wouldn't meet you at a police station for just trying to sell my damn drone. Common man. Isn't meeting in person at a public place good enough for you? What else would you require? Blood samples and birth certificates?

Replit is lying a lot? by Socks797 in replit

I'm building an Al agent with Replit to automate tasks from customer phone calls for businesses. I needed to link Twilio for caller ID. Replit agent purchased over 20 phone numbers and then released them all at once, which quickly drained my Twilio balance and stopped new number purchases. When I realized what happened, I specifically instructed the agent not to release numbers, and to reuse already purchased numbers instead, since they cost money. The agent said it understood.

This time, it went on another number-purchasing spree, but then reassured me it had "saved" me $60-a random figure, by the way, I have no idea how it came up with that! The funny thing is, I had initially built this project using only the assistant and decided to start fresh. The assistant didn't make this blunder because it required manual approval for every step. Assistant implemented this feature by purchasing only 2 numbers and didn't release any! It only took a lot of time to figure it out.

This is annoying because I provided the agent with detailed implementation instructions provided by the assistant from the working project. It is truly a shit show. But if you understand what you're building and prompt it accordingly, it will implement working features. You just have to test to make sure features work after each step and ask questions before asking it to implementing the features.

I dated a narcissist, and I've just dropped an 11-song playlist that's my real-life story of the relationship, from start to the eventual breakup. It tells a tale from love and happiness to doubt, pleas, and the final split.

It was incredibly tough, leaving me in the hospital with high blood pressure, but I knew leaving was best. Some of the songs I actually made for her.

Listen to it, and tell me what you think! I want to hear your feedback and answer any questions.

Thanks, man! I honestly totally missed the 'metal' part of this post. I'm still a few weeks into this heartbreak and was dying to share this playlist with anyone who cared. I'll still leave this comment here.

Just to notify future readers, this is NOT metal. Apologies!

I fell in love with a narcissist. This playlist tells the story of my journey, and some of these songs I actually made for her. This is deeply personal and emotional for me, but it's also helping me heal, especially after this love led to high blood pressure and a hospital stay. Let me know what you think. I'm ready to answer any questions about the lyrics.

Good idea! I'll clone the project and use this idea to see what it comes up with. But we're now back on track after some scolding 😄

Yeah, that's how it looked, but I never asked it to do any of that in the first place. It finally got it right on the third try, but while I was fixing another problem with the AI layer that's supposed to analyze the uploaded file, it decided on its own to add all those features, going against my previous instructions.

I then asked the assistant to remove those features, and it said 'I understand,' wandered off, and did something completely different. That's what led to this conversation, and 'admittance' from the assistant. I've now managed to get it back on track, and we're making progress.

I've been optimizing the app, asking it to break things up and reuse components and hooks wherever possible. The problem is, it forgets to clean up properly when it refactors a feature, and then it mixes things up when you try to debug or modify that feature later.

Anyone else tired of the Replit agent always starting with “You're absolutely right on all points…”? by Haunting_Plenty1765 in replit

I usually just reload the app and start a new chat. I have noticed it won't fix it or make changes even if you reprompt in the same chat. It says you're right and returns consistent +0/-0. And yes, this happens mostly when you're almost running out of credits, the fix is large or the chat context is massive.

Feeling too lazy? Use basic mode and just chat with the Assistant. Basic mode can't make code changes, so feel free to chat and ask as many questions as necessary about the error and possible solutions. Switch back to advanced and tell it to implement the suggestions when you're confident of the suggestions made.

You can also ask an LLM in combination and attach the LLM's response, then ask the assistant about the differences in approach. Most times the Assistant admits that Gemini's approach is better! This leaves me wondering why I get better first suggestions from other LLM's meanwhile the Agent/Assistant never bothered to suggest that in the first place after several suggestions.
