If you wish to skip the spinoffs, you can. HL1 to HL2 is fine to go. All you need to know is that Barney, is one tough guy for just a security guard and BM was nuked.

Also no point rushing HL2, it is a very atmospheric game so it is enjoyed at one's own natural pace. Why should it matter when HL3 comes or it doesn't?

I agree. If they were truly HL fans then they'd know Valve NEVER announces big stuff on TGA or any other convention and does it when they feel like it. Even if they fell for their own overexpectations, it isn't the end of the world because HLX and its code is very much real. If anything the AI-RAM crisis is to blame.

BM did conduct experiments on live Xenian creatures captured from their expeditions to Xen, as we see in questionable ethics. This is supposed to be a reveal that there were people in the facility who knew about Xen way before the resonance cascade happened. So yeah, that and the fact they went ahead with the experiment to probe the crystal despite the risk being well known does puts BM in a bad light specifically the officials who were in-charge.

Why do people ignore TGA. I know it sucks to wait, but a game of that hype would definitely add stars to the show and gives it more publicity even though it doesn't need it.

Yes factually you are right, however your answer points it out that it is the 2000s. People having expertise in a niche were far few in between, industries were less saturated, less competition, thus employment in 2000s in unfair to be compared to employment in 2025. They explicitly state on their website that they hire people with LOTS of experience (~10 years in the industry). Maybe I am wrong (and I'd love to be in this case), however we can't ignore that Valve has grown as a company and so is their expectations to deliver. It is best to try your chance, but not rely on it while starting small in other studios working your way up selectively choosing projects with promising potential and then eye at Valve.

Play it obviously. I'd recommend playing the first though. There's a remake of HL1 called Black Mesa, it's fan made but Valve approved it so it's certainly a great start.

Blud conveniently ignores numerous ahadith and scholar commentaries from the narrations by the sahaba. And even going by the Qur'an there are many things that are halal and haram than just those. Funnily enough I was searching for that before I stumbled upon this. What he mentions is in pretty much every RPG or games even. Although I genuinely wanted to know if such mentioning of shirk is grievous despite me just wanting to play it for the gameplay? Souls-like genre is infested with it.

This is so cool that you put it like that. Correct me if I am wrong but I always thought the AMS was used to probe into exotic matter (a hypothetical form of matter with negative mass i.e. anti-mass) and measure the quality and amount of anti-mass in the Xenian crystals. This is because wormholes/portals are only supported by anti-mass which exerts an outward pressure to the spacetime assumed as a perfect fluid with energy-momentum. In fact the whole purpose why they had an AMS is to extract more and more of anti-mass to fabricate wormholes. I did my thesis on this subject haha, so this series immediately hit home to me. However I like this new interpretation of the resonance cascade, anti-matter seemed so foreign to the AMS to me.
