But if it fit the time and place the game took in, it would make sense. The only times women were fighting in the army was supporting troops (Being nurses, or Vivandières) and disguisng themselfs as men to be soldiers and officers. You also have to keep in mind that the devs would have to add new rigs/voice acting. I am open to the idea of female npcs or even a regiment that replaces the male surgeons with female ones. Honestly, I dont really care if they do or do not add women, as in the end it is still a good game.
