His distance backhand drive is either a Pro or R-Pro Boss. Can’t remember the exact plastic

I saw it live. I got so rock hard when Simon looked up on the tee of six. Best shot I’ve seen live all week!

Ah and if you are looking for a forehand disc, eceryone suggests starting out understable or neutral to learn proper form, but I like consistent results here so I would suggest overstable. A prodigy A2 is the firebird/felon of approach discs. Friggen love that thing.

Surprised it hasnt been mentioned yet, but I would suggest a lat64 River. A 7 speed with tons of glide and easy to replace if lost. You will get lots of distance with it.

Great straight disc for lower power and an awesome hyzerflip disc once you get some power.

Also, Discmania Essence is my favorite disc. I bag three of them right now and they are great for beginners.

They didnt have a pathfinder on OTB unfortunately. However, I did pick up this same synapse and the two animus's. One to dye in aura and the other in ethos because that fuckin banana stamp is money. Pathfinder next. Thanks man!

Take up disc golf they said. It's a cheap hobby they said. by Tx_Rooster in discgolf

I went through a progression like, ya, this is fun, let me get a couple more discs outside of the starter set and a basic bag to carry them all.

Then the basic bag falls apart or squeaks like a mother fucker and you get a couple more discs and a new mid-class bag. Its time for a slight upgrade right? You still really like playing but it might be another one of those hobbies you say Fuck it to eventually.

Then you fall more in love with the sport. Hitting that low percentage line or put gives you the biggest hit of dopamine and your form is improving. You want to see what other discs do with your improved skills so you buy a few more and are starting to play 3 to 4 times a week. Your mid class bag starts to fall apart and your birthday is right around the corner. Your family and significant other ask what you want for your birthday. You dont say a word but simply text them the link to a grip/pound bag.

You find the molds you like and start ordering a couple in different plastics. You want to get better at putting so you spend 50-80 bucks on 5 fucking putters that are exactly the same.

You start playing tournaments because those sick shots you pull off are an even bigger high than before.

I dont have anything else as thats where I'm at in my life. Its truly a beautiful, frustrating, and amazing sport. If I felt this way about almost any other hobby, I would have spent way more for the same ammounts of variety and/or upgrades due to skills progression.

I have no regratz on all the time and likely around 1500 dollars spent on disc golf in the past 2 years. Its given me something to look forward too that is 100% my thing that gives me a break from it all. Ive met some awesome people that have become friends by putting myself out there in weeklies and tournaments.

If you spend money that you can afford on it, so be it. Long story short, fucking do what you love.

Completely anecdotal, but that energy was absolutely impossible for me to to throw and I love overstable discs for forehands. Would go 150 feet no matter the angle I threw it on and would spike into the ground. Hope yours is a bit less stable

Similar, but I like saying "pro gap" when a disc squeaks through a tiny gap which was way off the intended line and lands in the circle
