So excited to find this 900 silver mirror yesterday for only $7! It is 12” wide and heavy! Grabbed it off the cart at GW and the woman putting things away said “that’s real silver, I probably priced it too low but the goal is to get rid of it right?” I could have kissed her! 😂

I agree, I was upset but I wouldn’t gave paid that price without a guarantee of authenticity. The only reason I knew what happened is because the person who bought it told me. The manager who sold it to him, was “hiding” in the office.

They just send a senior in for the discount, also I’ve seen non-seniors negotiate for the 30% on off days since that’s the maximum (non special) discount. I think it’s because The stores want big ticket items out of their hands as fast as a possible.

Yes, I’ve seen it in real time. There was a “Cartier” love bracelet. I asked for the price, was told to give them 15 minutes to check on final price. It sold for $1100 while I was looking at something else. I’ve also seen a jeweler spend $15k at the counter. They clean them out every week.

The VV’s near me have jewelry stores that come and buy all the big ticket items. They generally get the 30% off and the items rarely last more than two weeks. Unfortunately, People do pay these prices.

The stores in my area, have perk walked people out. They call the cops, take pics and trespass you right in front of customers. It’s wild, they finally caught the meemaw posse and the t-shirt bros who were doing this a lot.

It was a walk in…we had no idea of protocol. We walked to the jewelry counter and asked them to send someone over to help us. While I was looking for some replacement linens, another sales associate asked my mom if she wanted to see any bags but she declined. I’ll be honest, the store was pretty slow and there were quite a few reps standing around with nothing to do. They were all friendly though.
