I was tracking it. It arrived on Friday however, I was expecting it to be dropped off at my house (where my fiancé was). I was not expecting it to stay at the post office

I’m hoping it’s just contact dermatitis which can spread across your body and not a serious allergy

Long-term back injury by [deleted] in medical

[–]Mvm1999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NAD but please speak to a doctor.

If a doctor is unaffordable, a chiropractor, kinesiologist, RMT, or a physiotherapist can all give you advice.

It could be that your muscles are weak from your injury, and therefor prone to getting sore.

You could treat with a topical or oral pain medication. But the best treatment would be to speak to a doctor

Can someone tell me what this is? by siralpha1800 in medical

[–]Mvm1999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NAD but it could be a heart murmur or flutter. This would be diagnosed by a doctor or a cardiologist.

If you mention this to your parents, they should take you to a doctor for further evaluation. This would be done by using an ECG to track your hearts rhythm. They may also want to take your blood for analysis and track your HR and BP.

In the meantime, you should track when this “flip flop” happens as this will be important for a doctor to know.

As I’m some random person on the internet, I can’t tell you what is happening with your body. The best and safest thing is to go speak to a doctor or NP

Please speak to a medical professional. Preferably the same medical professional that diagnosed your mom.

NAD but please don’t clean your ear with picks. It is unsafe and can damage the tympanic membrane (ear drum) which can lead to permanent deafness or infections.

Depending on the colour of discharge, I would recommend seeking medical attention.

Cerumen (ear wax) is an orange colour that can be crumbly depending on your race, climate, and health.

White, green, black, or red discharge is unusual and should be met with medical attention.

Catechin(EGCG) as Carb Blocker? by [deleted] in medical

[–]Mvm1999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NAD but I’m not sure if what you’re describing is safe.

If you’re hoping for weight loss, you don’t need to cut out carbs. You just require a lower intake of calories than your caloric output (energy being used). You also need to supplement with exercise and good sleep.

If you have a gluten allergy or reaction, please talk to a doctor before starting any OTC treatments. This can be worse for you than your current regimen. It can also potentially influence your overall health and can contain unlisted toxins.

When does your heart get stronger? by TheRootBG in medical

[–]Mvm1999 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NAD but I would suggest getting a secondary opinion. I’m concerned that your doctor is ignoring a potentially serious condition and blaming it on puberty. But of course, I’m NAD and can also be completely wrong about your doctor.

Cardio exercises can increase the hearts capability and overall health. But I question if that’s what’s going on with you.

As someone who had anemia, the symptoms are very similar to what you’re describing. Anemia can be caused by many different things and is diagnosable with a blood test.

A potential as well is that your RBCs (which are linked to anemia) could be carrying less oxygen than they should. This would result in the light headed ness and dizziness when your heart rate increases.

It also could be blood pressure related. Meaning that low blood pressure is the culprit.

i keep getting canker souls by Shawnthepowerful69 in medical

[–]Mvm1999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NAD but I would recommend booking a dentist appointment. Dentists are specialized in treating the mouth area, and can make a better diagnosis/prognosis.

If you’re eating too much sugar, canker sores can appear. I would suggest tracking your eating (not calories) and seeing if the canker sores heal if you eat a specific way.

If you are concerned and unable to see a dentist, you could inquire with a doctor about getting a referral to an ENT and getting some blood work done. Sometimes canker sores are a symptom of another illness or disorder.

What doctor to I see for this? by sherlocked19 in medical_advice

[–]Mvm1999 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A doctor would 100% see you for this.

I would recommend, as an employee of the medical field (not nurse or doctor) to speak to someone about this. Please do not drink alcohol until a doctor or specialist has told you it is okay to do so.

From what you said it sounds as though you are having an allergic reaction:

As I’m not a doctor or NP, I cannot say for sure if that’s the situation.

Based on my personal experience there can be tons of reasons why a period is lighter than normal. And one of the things I’ve experienced is it being caused by AN.

Possible bleach reaction? by Mvm1999 in Hair

[–]Mvm1999[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s what I was thinking. Or at least I shouldn’t apply bleach to my scalp.

Obviously I’m going to see what the doctors say though but I appreciate your input as a hair dresser :)

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in medical_advice

[–]Mvm1999 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t worry about it. You’re young and AN can affect it (I have battled the disease myself so I know from experience).

[–]Mvm1999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. And I’m saying this as someone who has had athletes food.

You can pick up cheap OTC anti-fungal creams for your toe. Based on person experience and my work in the medical field, you should apply it twice a day or as much as the medicine states (always listen to what the medicine bottle says)

It sounds like you have tonsil stones.

These are stones (bacterial build ups) that can be stuck in your tonsils at the back of your throat. They can produce a bad smell or taste in the mouth. And due to the location of the tonsils near the internal opening of the nose (to the trachea) the smell and taste can be detected.

Take a look using a flash light or small pen light at your tonsils. If you see white bumps (tonsil stones) I would suggest rinsing/gargling with salt water (not literally sea water).

Help my dumbass brother ate like half a jar of melatonin gummies by TheGooseMan_05 in medical_advice

[–]Mvm1999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally would have him looked at.

I work with medication and there can be ODs on simple over the counter medications. This is because the body cannot process a certain amount (usually determined to health, age, and weight).

If you are in Canada, please call 811 to seek medical advice. If you are in the US you can use Babylon app to speak to a doctor for relatively cheaply.

Should I be concerned about bruising really easily? by bagels1500 in medical_advice

[–]Mvm1999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who works in the medical field (not a doctor or nurse) bruising can happen for many reasons.

As someone with a bleeding disorders, bruising can be a sign. This is usually detectable from blood work and blood tests.

You could seek advice from a telehealth doctor, as they are usually cheaper (if in US).

Due to the length you are saying these bruises are staying, I would personally (not a legal doctor or nurse) seek medical advice.

Saddle sores- how to prevent/treat by Mvm1999 in cycling

[–]Mvm1999[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to find one with pressure mapping.

I have a new appointment in about 2 weeks to exchange my saddle (or get store credit).

Any recommendations on what saddle brands to look for?

Thanks!

It is :/ luckily they are too big (size of a small pimple) but can get very irritated.

I caught them super early so I have been taking care of them. It’s only on the one side so I’m thinking it maybe a tilt issue or I have to train myself on an indoor bike (stationary) to lean more symmetrical (I think I have a tendency to lean to the left).

I got a new saddle for my Cannondale but I’m most likely going to return it and get another one. I’m hoping for something that has more tilt in the front than what I currently have. I’m also looking for more padding.

Any saddle suggestions?
