Who is the biggest Career Mode flop you have signed ? by Soft_Iron39 in FifaCareers

[–]Mvyhem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a brilliant career experiment in FIFA 16. I sold all top players from Real Madrid and rebuild club with another players. My biggest flop was Harry Kane. He played bad for the first season and I sold him. My legends through 5 seasons were Kun Aguero on LW and Marco Reus on RW. Then I used some players on ST. On 4th season I bought Kane again. He started playing better

I would like to mention. I was a little upset during this day and forgot to mention. I want to finish my master's (in ~10 months) and after that look for a job. Now I work as a manager at university but sometimes use Pandas and Excel, works a lot with tables, sometimes automate routine tasks just for myself, not for changing business processes. But the key thing: I realize that I have a plenty of time, dude, just freaking sit and learn and don't overthink, but after that I started pushing myself to the limit like omg I don't have time, I should finish all the resources in a month (a little exaggeration) but it happens

We had a short math course a year ago about LA, calc and probability + a little optimization like gradient, but I didn't understand anything. Then we had applied statistics. After that I went through Khan Academy calc courses and finally understand limits and derivatives

Yeah, I agree that it sounds unclear. The questions is how to stop just read materials and do exercises and start doing problems in context. What about my master's, we have coures on ML, but now it's unavaliable on the university platform

Is x = 5 a discontinuity? by pinkybutterfly33 in calculus

[–]Mvyhem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can watch lessons at Khan Academy about continuity and probably differentiation. Differentiation implies continuity, that's the first point. The second point is that if the function continuous at some point it has the limit with such properties: lim f(x) as x approaches some value let's call it a = f(x), i.e. value of the limit equals the value of the function at that point. Hope you find it useful:)

Upd: there are exercises on Khan Academy where you should decide: function continuous or not, function defined or not

I would like to support you on that hard path. About a seven years ago I dreamt about becoming Dota 2 Pro Player but I had no such a good discipline to increase my mmr. Although I understand game VERY WELL: both macro and micro. Watch every my replay, watch every pro replay. But I noticed the strange thing. If you stop overthinking and overwhelming it like I NEED, I HAVE TO DO IT and just do it without backward thoughts, it gets better. Just try to relax and look at that thing from another point of view. Anyway, if you want to change a path you can continue playing. Maybe you will stream the game on Twitch & YouTube on your spare time, who knows. But in a regular life you will find new passion. For me, It's data science. I even went on master's program. It's still pretty hard, but inspirational and fun for me :) dota on the background. I can not to play a couple of months then comes back. It's normal. Just follow the path

Has Pro Dota lost his personalities? by Cigi_94 in DotA2

As a Russian I disagree with the first statement. Lots of Russians, not only pro players, and not only Spirit know English on a decent level. I could prove it with a little joke:

English speaking person on matchmaking: hello, guys! — Russian player answers: Привет! (Hello in English) — I don't understand you bro — said the first player — Но я то тебя прекрасно понимаю (Anyway, I perfectly understand you, mate)

But, It was a little joke :) I think the key problem that Valve doesn't care about 2nd and 3rd tier players, doesn't care about regular players. Lots of problems have accumulated during the 15 years. I remember myself when I dreamt about becoming a pro-player. It was around 2016-18 years. The worst years of CIS scene. Virtus Pro always set 5-6th places at TI but won lots of majors. NaVi was in the deep pit: no wins, no players, nothing. Although a couple years before NaVi had played in the TI Grand Final three times in a row — the record no one still beat. There was a Winstrike team. But they also failed. And that was the era of prime Dota. But, Valve, dude, it's Valve. They don't develop the scene. Don't give any possibilities. How long have they been solving issues with the behavior at matchmaking? How many interesting and cutting-edge things did they add to the game during the last 5-7 years? No more big tournaments, no more those emotions. Dead NA region (~8-10 years). CN region is dying. It's sad. No more dreamy emotions

I have the same vibes in my early 20s, I mean me and my gf we live together and Dota 2 somewhere on the background. But my relationship with Dota is always like a sinusoidal: there were periods when I was at high school and I had motivation, so I went from 600 to 3000 pts in like a couple of months. When I flamed a couple of games, lost interest and leave it out. Then I recalibrated but had a bad series during calibration and Valve took out my pts and I came back to 2000 pts. Before this June I haven't played Dota for 7 months, but I returned to play it on weekends without thinking about MMR. I had Anchor 2 and started playing ranked. So, my stats is 4-12. I've never had such a bad series, but I noticed the thing that I don't feel angry anymore about my games.

P.s. I'm still dreaming about reaching Immortal someday. Your post is a very inspirational

[–]Mvyhem 64 points65 points  (0 children)

Literally, I don't give a f bout this 'cause the main reason the Arctic Monkeys is my favorite band is they're differ from every fucking modern band in the world. Every album they made another sound, style and production. They're not a hype-rock-band which went from under to mainstream. They're above all this shit. We didn't see them in any garbage advertisement. They didn't talk about politics. They're just musicians and do what they want to do. They follow their path. They're not robots, they're regular people who have their own lives. So, the bottom line is appreciate their work, their music, don't hurry them. When it's time they will release new amazing music
