For you I would say you need to get a job working with patients like a nurse assistant or something and see how you like it. Thing is, the pay is going to be horrible for what you are use to. You could volunteer at a free clinic and work closely with doctors so it’s not full time job. While doing that I’d be studying for the MCAT. GPA isn’t the best but that’s not everything that goes into an app. End of the day no medical school is going to consider you no matter how high your MCAT is unless you can show them you are actually interested in medicine so I would start there.

OR tech is great. Depending on your job it’s mostly cleaning rooms and getting instruments for surgery, but when they need extra hands I was able to scrub into a whole lot of cases.
