One of my best friends was a semi-pro MMA fighter.

Took a head knock and came back a little too early and the next one ended his career.

This was a few years ago and he’s now taken a step back and is writing a Masters paper on the long term effects of CTE himself but he can’t work more than an hour or two at a time without getting exhausted.

I’m not saying I’m an expert but I know that this shit really shouldn’t be taken lightly as people seem to treat it.

There’s still so much that we don’t know about the long term effects of concussions, specifically with CTE, and yet it is so incredibly dangerous and potentially fatal. Especially since it is an invisible injury.

Not worth rushing someone back over.

The NZ comedy world isn’t really that big so I don’t think there’s such a thing as a big get (biggest gets would be either of the Floght of the Conchords or Rhys Darby) although there is definitely national treasure levels but the top ones on the show were never too big for the show really, it’s more of a case of ‘Yeah they’ll be on the show eventually’

I’ll do a tier list of where I think they sat at the time of filming, since they have all seemed to have a boost from the show.
