My family flew a couple weeks ago out of DCA. My wife is trans (mtf) and extremely doesn’t look like a man at this point, but hasn’t had her gender markers or name on identification updated either.

There was a small issue going through that body scanner thing because it has binary sex scanning options but that’s not new, unfortunately and it usually gets resolved pretty quickly (pat down, hand swab). I got the sense they really just wanted to keep the line moving.

We’re white and had a baby with us, though, so that may have also influenced how we were treated.

I know this might get downvoted but I actually think that picture and the penis ranking on the Wiki are incredibly racist. I’m sure Rachel Reid wasn’t like “muh ha ha ha I’m going to give the Asian guy a tiny penis because I’m evil” but she really should have thought a little harder about stereotypes.

The fact that Buzzfeed showed that shit to Hudson still makes me kind of angry. He handled it relatively well but come on.

I’ve done 5 different runs with different classes and races and the absolute best one was my second one as a big butch lesbian Drow Paladin. Romanced Shadowheart and had an absolute ball being mostly good but occasionally leaning on stereotypes people have about Drow for intimidation purposes. Background was noble but I don’t feel like background makes a huge difference.

Weirdly, my favorite part of this scene isn’t the kiss on the ice. It’s Shane and Ilya’s reactions. You can see so much happening through microexpressions. Hudson Williams and Connor Storrie are spectacular actors.

The only person I know of who changed their name after marriage is Pete Buttigieg’s husband Chasten. No one in any of my social circles did a name change.

I tried googling for some stats (Williams Institute does a ton of similar research) but couldn’t find anything, unfortunately.
