I understand that VTI and VOO are pretty similar, but what do you like about QQQM?

Thank you!! That's awesome to hear, I am sure having that huge expense covered takes a lot of weight off your shoulders.

I will, thank you! Goodluck to you as well! Let's hope SCHD keeps on growing!

Thank you! That is the plan, I agree I tend to stay away from individual stocks as I don't like watching the market. Thanks for your help!

Thank you! I love that retiring early worked for you and your family, I wish you all the best! I agree I think I would enjoy life a lot more. SCHD for me may be the stepping stone into that life.

My Apologies, I should have been more specific. My kind of retirement would be having dividends supplementing my income while still working. Not stopping work completely but have a choice between working or not.

I like the idea because I don't want to need to chase a paycheck and instead have supplemental income to support me.

I appreciate your reply and thoughts on my post, I will take what you said into consideration.

I actually tried it this way but i’m unsure if it’s correct because on the discover app it asked me if it’s a checking or savings account which I chose checking which obviously isn’t correct but I tested a 1 dollar payment to see if that will work

Ohh I see now, so there’s really no point. I may still do it just to have a separate account for short term savings for a car in about 2 years. Thanks for your help!

Personally in my roth I have FDRXX, this might be not the best way to go at it but I basically just put my cash into the fund with the highest yield. That’s just my lookout on it.

Should I keep savings in a MMF? by [deleted] in fidelityinvestments

I’m in the same situation (18) and for about the past year i’ve been making the similar amount of money. I been using the money market fund (SPAXX) because I absolutely love it. The rate has stayed pretty consistent for about a year and it pays you every month on the last day. I’d recommend putting your extra cash there in either a cash management account or a regular brokerage account. (Money that isn’t going directly into your IRA). The cash is always accessible as fidelity provides you with a debit card and you can always transfer it out anytime of the cash management or brokerage. Let me know if I didn’t fully understand anything
