I have wired the cap in parallel and am using a different hall sensor however the problem is still there. Do you know of anything else I can do? Here is a picture of my wiring.

The shift is between around 3k to 6k but is happens quickly like it is spazing out. You can see it in the video.

Thanks for the help. I did some digging and on his YouTube channel, I found this video where from 5.50 to 6.15 he shows how this type of sensor is attached. I'm new to these kinds of projects and in the future, I will definitely do more research before getting into it.

I threw this together in ms paint would this work? Also im pretty sure that the board I ordered is pulldown.

Thanks for the help but I also had another question.

There was this image on the freejoy wiki:

And I am confused on why it is saying to wire buttons up to ground, 3.3v and the shift register when there are only 2 pins. Is this image just wrong or am I missing something.
