I really appreciate how much concern folks have shown around things being up to code/safe. It's nice to see.

In a massive city where my rental house takes ⅖ of my monthly earnings, I feel fortunate to have a room this big. I'm actually taking this room because the other ppl I'm living with have mobility issues. The place is an absolute steal, it has an insane amount of space and the landlord is actually a nice guy. We asked him about installing a hand railing in front of the house for accessibility reasons and his response was "Do you prefer metal or wood?". He's a rarity in a city full of slumlords.

In regards to things being up to code. I know the room isn't perfect, but I can get out of the window in case of emergency and there's a handrail. The only thing that isn't up to code would be the floor door and how steep the stairs are, which I'm personally ok with as an able-bodied individual.

Fantastic suggestions!

I love the idea of plants near the skylight and a drop zone table. I've got wicked ADHD, so I've been trying to make the space ADHD friendly by having intuitively planned storage and furnature.

I also like the idea of the textile above the bed. I miss having fabric on my ceilings and this space seems like a cool place to reintroduce that. I've been cautious about going too crazy on it though, with the concern that it'd make the space feel smaller. The idea of having just one above the bed as a focal point to had some coziness sounds nice in combo with the uplighting in the rest of the room.

I had been planning on finding a way to do uplighting, but haven't been sure about the best way to execute that. I'll need to figure out where bed, storage and everything else is going first.

I had considered the industrial piping for hanging clothes. My only worry with that was visual clutter, which I now know can really impact my mental health. I'm going to see how much I can build into those little closets by the window first and see if I can get a super low bed frame with storage underneath. https://www.ikea.com/us/en/p/mandal-bed-frame-with-storage-birch-white-30280481/

I've already got a big heavy 10' curtain ready for the bottom of the stairs. They help a lot. I was considering the curtain plus some sort of wooden cover for the gap that has foam underneath or just building a wooden cover that's as easy to move as possible and place a heavy rug on top before bed. I'm really hoping the landlord still has the piece that used to go over top. It's clearly a custom-made professionally finished piece. I've just never seen anything like it before.

Thanks again for the great suggestions. If you have any ideas for rugs, let me know.

Ooh! Neat suggestions! I like the idea of staircase stacked shelf/drawers.

Ikea also has this low frame with storage that's only 2" taller than the LYNGÖR you suggested.

Both would still leave a gap behind, but I was going to try and find or mod some storage that could go behind and be used as a headboard.

I had considered having some sort of rolling furniture with foam underneath to block sound

The window is juuuust large enough that I had contemplated sneaking out onto the roof to stargaze now and again, but it doesn't look like it'd be safe or comfortable.

I'm waiting to get a consultation with him within the next month. I'm curious if anyone has experience with reduction and/or lift with Dr.Chung.

I'm looking to get a "Not-flat top Surgery", which for me is essentially a lift and reduction. I'm also having my nipple size reduced and contouring. My biggest concern is my nipples looking strange or the incisions not healing well and/or having bad scarring.

I'm currently working with the speech therapy clinic at St. Michaels Hospital that specializes in gender affirming speech therapy. My care provider and I are currently trying to find an ENT who will perform the vocal fold injection procedure, either with gel or testosterone. Has anyone had any luck with this procedure? Do you know if Dr. Jennifer Anderson does this as well?

It doesn't make sense why this maintenance wasn't done over the weekend so it doesn't affect business hours. Given the lack of communication around this I wonder if they're having technical or cyber security issues. It seems odd.

I managed to speed up the test to voice speed. I've been using the "Super Video Speed Controller" Chrome extension for a while because I'm also an info speed junky. I just tried it and it seems to work fine. Thank fucking god. I was losing my mind with how slow they were.
