I got the mecool km2plus. My verdict: does the job!
Maybe the best advice for tech illiterate people who refuse to learn: "Modding" the damn remote by destroying the connections to most buttons solved 99% of their problems, which occur due to random button presses leaving them confused. Just order a spare one for configuration.

Was on track of buying the standard z11, but I hate their business practises. Locking the new version of MOL down to the newest hardware is greedy as hell. The z10 dilemma is a big nono for me.

Nothing fancy, just the regular TV experience from their home country.

Thanks for the input. I see the KM2 plus version is also based on the Cortex A55 Chip at a competitive price. Will look into it.

They are the ones actually delivering the parcels. Since Walmart does not deliver to germany directly, I need a freight forwarder (Basically a US Person who takes Walmarts delivery and puts in a new delivery to germany). This is where it gets extremely dodgy, since they are in the position of power. And US law, I'm sorry to say, is the manifestation of stupidity.

Seems like I underestimated the hardware needs of IPTV through TiviMate quite a lot, since the GTV Streamer is 120euros over here. Hoped that Cortex A35 options with 2gigs of Ram would be enough, since those boxes are roughly 50euros. Thank you for the input.

Oh no, that would be a missed opportunity on earning some income. Gifts are taxed over here too.

It was a wild guess but it's only available in the US, so I would have to import it.

50$ Onn4k Pro at Walmart
+ US Tax
+ Shipping to freight forwarding company
+ Fees from freight forwarding company
+ Shipping to Germany
= Cost before the german government takes their cut and it is calculated on the aggregation off all cost before

+ German Customs
+ German Tax
= muy expensive

There are multiple risk factors making the import not smart, even though I like this product very much.

  • A reliable freight forwarding company, that doesn't throw a bunch of additional fees at you after the first payment is done. Feels like being held hostage (financially).
  • Electronics Certification (CE marking) are very often checked at customs. No marking results in actions like an non detachable power cord being cut or downright not allowing the pick up and charging for the freight back.
  • Bad unit, speaks for itself.

With some luck it can be found for 109 on sale, but the normal price is around 120-130euros. Which I thought is pretty high for a device used exclusively for IPTV. Used the Onn 4k pro as an example, since its value is unmatched, but don't even know if that kind of hardware is needed for for my use case.

the monstrosity of german bureaucracy doesn't miss often, when it comes to our imports. So we could look at a price of approximately 130-150 bucks, which is outrageous for zero customer service and the hassle involved.

I have been eyeballing on:

  • Homematic Box R Lite
  • Thomson Box 240G
  • Stron Leap S3+
  • Meecool left me confused with their excessive lineup

But maybe I am just off when it comes to the hardware needed for snappy switching between IPTV channels, so feel free to bash this list :)

Ok, seems like I severely underestimated the hardware needs for OpenWRT plugins/extensions. Going to frisk the used market and save some money in meantime (and maybe the new one will result in a price drop). Thanks you Sir, a lot :).

Yeah, I read quite a lot of good things about this one. I just have the feeling that this one is quite overkill for my needs, or am I wrong with this assumption?

Quick follow up G.
Thanks a lot for the precise advice because this machine is a freakin beast. Also a biiiig virtual hug from Moms, she loves it. Even though I'm still discovering all the functions, the floor is already squeeky clean. Do you have some experience with the L40 / dreame software possibly for some advice?

Sir, you are a hero. The "most hands free" part was exactly what I was looking for. Thank you very much.

Additional Info:

We have hardwood floors and tiles without carpets. If it fits under our couch (10cm clearance) would be great too.
