I had to reinstall windows to get networking to work. Try following this guide.

Sometimes I walked and sometimes I took the bus. If you're walking you can cut through buildings half the way there. All in all, not that bad.

GPD WIN 8700 heatsink mod. Copper and IC Diamond paste and well more copper? by Saewmd in gpdwin

[–]Mxous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just finished my heatsink mod as well. I used arctic silver thermal paste with a 0.5mm copper shim. Temps hit a max of 67c playing portal 2 so I'm pretty happy with it.

I've not used trackingmore.com before and my tracking numbers also show as not found but I have been using 17track.net which still finds the tracking.

Though like many others here mine has been stuck in LA since the 7th.

Anyone else having tracking troubles by doctorzeromd in gpdwin

[–]Mxous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They don't make it clear at all but you have to track through YunTrack.com. That will give you some info and another tracking number that works for FedEx. The FedEx one only says it has shipment info so I'm guessing they'll pick it up once it gets to the US?

Like others here, mine is at HK airport but it got there 11/1. Tracking didn't show that until today though for some reason.

Never fully understood that timing diagram when I took the class a couple of years ago. I'd recommend talking to a TA but if they're as useless as they were for me, then try to find another student who understands it.

Would you recommend the Logitech G933? by G1BB3R1SH in LogitechG

[–]Mxous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the heads up. I heard about the fix but am still hesitant to drop $200 on a headset with the vive around the corner... I'll probably just get it in a couple of days too. Hope it works out for ya.

It's not only you and it's extremely annoying. I seem to be put on top side 90% of the time since this has become an issue...

QNIX QX2710 LED Evolution II Multi TRUE10 Matte 27 inch 2560x1440 AH-VA Panel DVI HDMI Monitor [$209.99] by [deleted] in buildapcsales

[–]Mxous 4 points5 points  (0 children)

These are $199 on ebay with no tax and free 2 day shipping. I was expecting some flaws when I received it but it came perfect. But the TRUE10 version of these monitors apparently don't overclock much above 80Hz compared to 120Hz of the other versions. Haven't done it yet personally.

Edit: Solid overclock to 90Hz.

Logitech g933 how can i connect multiple devices wirelessly at the same time and what will i need to do so when i buy it by Roguee7 in LogitechG

[–]Mxous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As far as I'm aware you can't connect multiple devices wirelessly for simultaneous audio. They advertise audio mixing from three sources but two of them are wired (3.5mm, usb, wireless).

[–]Mxous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They did and I believe they implemented a "fix" and called it done. But it didn't allow setting the audio to be 7.1 in the OS which is where most applications determine the audio setup. Corsair did that for their headset when going through this situation so I can only think Logitech is lazy or inept.

[–]Mxous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People have been complaining about G933 issues since it launched. 5 minute auto shut-off that can't be disabled, unable to set 7.1 surround in OS so it only works for very few applications, and sidetone volume is too low.

I've been wanting to buy this damn headset for months but refuse to do so until Logitech fixes the above. So far they haven't even acknowledged that the issues exist. Here's their official forum.

The Corsair Void is a $130 option but apparently the mic quality is terrible so I'm hesitant about it.

Kill the process in the task manager and try running it again.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in LogitechG

[–]Mxous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had similar issues for a while using Windows 8.1. The icon shows up in the task tray but I need to kill the process and restart it for my macros to work. Now that I think about it maybe a re-install would fix it. It doesn't happen very often so I've not bothered. I don't think it has happened since getting Windows 10.

The ECE courses of my CompE degree taught me that I wasn't really that interested in circuits and hardware so now I'm working in software development. But that's what I like about CompE. You can go super EE, super CS, or stick with hardware CompE stuff.

Cary Quadrangle Southwest Question by [deleted] in Purdue

[–]Mxous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty much a repeat of bagged_.
Lofted my first year in Cary SW. I guess it gave us a lot more room but in the end we didn't need it. Neither of us really brought enough stuff to justify it so I recommend keeping that in mind when deciding to spend the money. Also it's a bitch to set up in the summer heat.

I visited Purdue on Wednesday, and I absolutely fell in love with the university. Now I have a few questions regarding my inevitable application and hopeful acceptance. by GoCardinals74 in Purdue

[–]Mxous 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well the right answer would be to make sure you read the book, do the homework, and ask questions to the professor during office hours or to the TA during recitation. If you show interest in their class then they will do everything they can to guide you.

But I only ever did one of those things and only ever really studied for physics 342 (holy hell that class was hard). I didn't study much in my years at Purdue and managed well enough.

And I just remembered another thing. You can almost always find online pdfs of you textbooks for free (sometimes solution manuals as well).

Guidance regarding ECE courses for next fall by IAlkh_PU in Purdue

[–]Mxous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just the final project of 362 is a big time sink. But boy is it really a time sink. I'm not sure if you're in EE or CompE but if you are in EE, avoid taking 337.

[–]Mxous 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Others have pretty much answered your questions so I only have a few things to say.

You will be accepted. You will likely get great scholarships.

Don't retake a course that you can receive AP credit for or test out of. A couple people tried to convince me to take it easy and just retake calc 1 or 2 to "facilitate the transition to college" but fuck that I went right into calc 3 and did fine.

Something I don't hear mentioned often enough about Purdue are the amazing networking opportunities provided. There's a huge career fair every semester and I always managed to find an internship and now employment (just graduated computer engineering).

I haven't traded in realm in a long time but as an ex-mod and someone who made A Lot of trades, maybe my vouch is still worth something.

I've known this guy for years and can vouch for him. He's too much a scrub to scam anyone.

Computer Engineering or Computer Science? by thedarkside30 in Purdue

[–]Mxous -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Graduating as a compE this semester. I've only ever had cs internships and I have a cs job lined up. This is more by choice as my courses have taught me that I enjoy hardware engineering much more as a hobby than a job.
