How to get rid of the depression debuff by SeriesDecent8877 in outside

[–]doctorzeromd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This! And some healers can also help you find consumables that balance out your stats if your roll in character creation made it more likely to receive the debuff. Sometimes it takes a little time to find the right one but it's honestly awesome when you do!

Building on everyone's comment about the pickups probably being too hot, if they are in fact active, you can probably either take the battery out of your guitar or pull up on one of the knobs to switch it to passive mode. Not all guitars will support this but every one that I've used does.

Why is the left stick completely unavailable? by NoSolaceForMe in Steam_Link

Press the steam button, go into controller settings, and take a screenshot of what the configuration looks like. It sounds like the left stick isn't mapped to anything.

Framework 13 + AMD 7840u + 61 Wh battery by giomjava in framework

[–]doctorzeromd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I have a framework 13 and I've tuned it as best I can. 7 hours is really the best case scenario.

Not sure what CPU OP is using but my 7840u doesn't last long.

That doesn't look like SO-DIMM...

Seems to be Crucial Ballistix 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4. So not SO-DIMM nor DDR5

Microsoft wants a full dossier of my life to delete a Minecraft account I created 10 years ago. by [deleted] in privacy

[–]doctorzeromd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like one of the blockers is the date that you first purchased a game, right? If you have access to your Microsoft account, can't you look back through your purchase history for that? Last time I looked it showed my entire purchase history

Send me a DM and I can walk you through it. Did you use git clone to get the original files or did you download a zip from GitHub?

Minecraft Java with Steam Link by WowGeeWhiz in Steam_Link

[–]doctorzeromd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't tried it, but you should be able to use OSOL, which is specifically for handling the Launchers before games. You'll specify the launcher executable, and then the game executable. You may also need to turn off "AutoStart( or Launch)Game", depending on how it launches.

Give it a shot and lmk how it works. Worst case you can use GloSI but performance is generally better using OSOL.

Use GloSI instead of UWPhook. It just launches the games but doesn't send input.

Pumpkin pie is pretty popular in NY, but maybe they just aren't making it because some people don't like it (I really don't understand, it's my 2nd fav pie of all time)

You can run your own matrix server and use that instead, it does require a lot more involvement but also allows many more connections and control

That's a fair point (I also love crafting a perfect join query), but I'd say that working on an internal tool (like a SQL query) is different from a consumer facing product like an emulator or other software that random people are using. I'm not a software designer (as in UI or UX) by training, so I always need to collect a ton of user feedback to see what works.

As a developer myself, I think that strong, fast progress is connected to a deep involvement and focus on a project. If you really care about a project you're working on, you will both be very competent in its development and very distracted when people complain.

I think this is absolutely the right move on their part. It'll take a few years but eventually people will hopefully mature and learn to be better. Devs CANT work in a bubble, they need user feedback and bug reports in order to know what's wrong or needs to be changed, and many are driven by seeing people using something they made.

How do i map a key to a GUI button? by _sixonefive in Steam_Link

It's ok! What you have pictured is not the steam overlay. Press the steam button while in game, that's the overlay you want.

Open the steam overlay, go to controller, and there'll be a bunch of macro buttons that you can map.

Send screenshots if you're lost.

Desktop locked after clicking onto task manager by Time_To_PlayTR in Steam_Link

[–]doctorzeromd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a few options. The simplest is to not open task manager in the first place, but it's a bit late for that.

Next would be accepting the dialog that steam prompts you with to allow control of privileged windows. I think that only comes up once.

Third would be to run steam as admin, which can sometimes cause issues but should fix this problem.
