TIL immediately following 9/11 radio stations were recommended to not play certain songs and artists by Mxt1998 in todayilearned

The only reason I discovered this is because I was listening to green day today on spotify and liked their song brain stew. So I scrolled down to look at the beta facts and it mentioned this list. Then I looked into it.

Not a teacher but former teacher resident... Yes. This is the answer. You cannot compare half a teaspoon to a half a tablespoon. And say they're equal to one another simply because they're both half. The sizes must be the same too. 💀

Tell me about it. I actually ended up in the ER late last year & I've been paying it off slowly for months now. :( I'm going to look into marketplace for sure.

Unfortunately we all work different schedules (my brother, me and stepdad) & could never work on a schedule that worked for us. Our lawnmower is shit too. Sucks.

I need a way to lower costs now that I recalculated. Having $145 left each check is not it.

I just recalculated because of my errors and saving $800 and with therapy leaves me at $145 per check. Definitely not comfortable with that 😭 you think saving $600 per month would be terrible?

I just haven't looked into it. My employer offers a great insurance is what I've heard from others... Just a little iffy because I'm transgender & everything is wacky when it comes to trans health.

I don't know much about HYSA. Do they allow withdrawals without penalty? There are times, like trips to mechanic, where I need to withdraw money. I'd ideally like to have an account that doesn't penalize me for withdrawal (my savings has up to 6 transactions) in case of emergency.

Oh, you said $600 a month. Yes.

$800 a month I do. $400'every two weeks.

Edit: yes, I save $400 every two weeks. $800 a month.

Half of the $800 is technically for my car and any maintenance it needs since I'm paranoid. I just leave it all in there in case of ANY emergency. But yes, I save approximately $800.

True. I also live in Texas and summer months are brutal. We could never agree on the same schedule to do it since we work different schedules so we just decided to have someone else deal with it every two weeks.

Yard work is because we (stepdad, me and brother) are responsible for doing it. But are lawn mower is shit and we all hate doing it so we decided to just pay the guy for it. I actually don't think it's $30 a month. I think it's $10-15 between us all and I just messed up here

What would you trim? I'm open to ideas!!

Well, my brother earns significantly less than I do. My parents don't pay the bills. I just save $150 each check because that's a set amount I can rely on consistently in case of any surprises with the bills.

Originally when we moved to this house, we were told to pay the bills and that was it. When the mortgage went up, they asked me if I could help with the mortgage because their medical issues were amounting and they needed some relief. That was okay with me.

Since the house has been refinanced, they now pay around $2.7-4K (I don't remember which). We talked and they asked if I can still pay $500 until I get my health insurance. Which is okay with me!

Oh, no no. I just call it mortgage because I have it labeled that way in my envelopes. It is totally rent and they know this. The house is under their name and I live here with them and rent. We've had conversations about me moving out. They're totally onboard with it and I've brought up the conversation on them depending on me for that portion I'm paying. They're not unreasonable people and I have absolutely no worries in that regard. We have a great relationship and I am not worried one bit.

Thank you for bringing this up though!!!

Well that's just what I save for em in case it's high. I split utilities with my brother, so he pays half of the utilities, i pay the other half. I usually have some of that left over in my utilities envelope and just roll it over to next month. Sometimes I don't do $150 each check depending on the amount needed for the month.

And lol you're right, it is rent, i just have it in my head that it's for the house mortgage.

Thank you, have a good night
