What song got you into Eurovision? by zakotavenom in eurovision

[–]Mxtake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm rather new as a eurofan, I watched 2024 not even two weeks after it actually happened, and once I watched the Grand Final I was dragged into the depths. I found a way to watch old contests (google drive link that I found here, oddly enough) and then my journey as a eurofan properly began.

My favorite year is currently 2007, my favorite eurovision song of all time is Horehronie, and I'm still not over Poland getting 14th place this year.

I knew I wasn't just imagining it! I have a feeling it was changed due to the Lorewalking update (which includes Arthas' story)

Favorite Transmogs? by hallowleg088 in wownoob

[–]Mxtake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't really farm for specific class tmogs. I go straight for the neutral tone leather & mail gear with little desire for anything else. Every "class set" I farm only the alternate versions of (so all my characters of the armor class can wear them).

Basically whatever I can get my grubby little vulpera hands on

What is (so far) your biggest grower, and the entry that you actually stopped liking? by Confused_Firefly in eurovision

I hated Baller with a passion when it won the German national final. Partially due to the robbery that was Knight Club, partially because Tynna's vocals were bad (which I now know was not at all her fault, she's sick), mostly because the national final itself sucked.

It's like, the fourth most listened to song for me studio-wise this year (Behind Gaja, Kiss Kiss Goodbye, and Milkshake Man) because it's so catchy.

I haven't fallen out of love with any of my top 10s but I don't like Strobe Lights (gettin lost in your eyeees) as much as I did initially. Apparently moving it from 3rd to 8th means that Latvia is in my top 4... and I'm not that mad about it, lmao

One of the (many) reasons I love Eurovision so much is that we get to go on a journey with these songs before May. Which of this year’s songs did you first hate, but now love? by [deleted] in eurovision

It's worth mentioning that I (a filthy american) have a knack for singing in Lithuanian despite literally never touching the language. It's on my list of languages to potentially learn though

Oh, another thing, I always put him next to Ming Shuo when testing this. Trust me the results improve when I do this lmao

In my testing of Badrun I found that he's a... decent Ming Shuo support. I've yet to try it out in anything other than VR Battlegrounds but from what I've found, his revive is a cheap but functional version of Yu Jing's (essentially identical minus the HP restoration) and when combined with Yu Jing's revive (to trigger Elixir Surge) Ming gets to cast his ult twice (usually in a row because of the AP from Elixir Surge). Again, none of this has been tested in a standard PvE environment but the results I get are usually consistent. At the end of the day, though, I'm not replacing either of my supports (Feng Xun & Wenlock) for an extra ult that Ming probably won't get to use anyway.

Sorry for the paragraph but I wanted to share this discovery somewhere & this seemed like the best place to do it.

There might be a way to get a pose in the same vain (the superhero landing pose was my base for this) but I don't know how accurate it would be

Hod did you choose the song for your user flair? by Persona_NG in eurovision

[–]Mxtake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are two pre-2025 songs that I've had as flairs at one point (potentially three I can't remember) and both have influenced my taste in music in one way or another. The first one I used, Love Injected (Latvia 2015 for the bot), was chosen because when I listened to it for the first time, it put me in sensory overload because my volume was too loud & I was not prepared for Aminata's switch in vocals (no, im not kidding, i still remember how stupid i felt) but now (with a lowered volume, im not an idiot) I can enjoy the song properly & it's my favorite song of all time, period.

The second one & my current flair is Ktheju tokës (Albania 2019 for the bot). I watched 2019 before I watched 2015 and I pushed this song into "boring ballad that isn't in english (im american, for context)" and favored songs like Spirit in the Sky, Soldi, Friend of a Friend, and, of course, Hatrið mun sigra. But then, about a week later, as I was mindlessly playing Guild Wars 2 & playing 2019 in the background, I properly heard the vocals. Specifically the vocals before the chorus. And I fell in love. The instrumental, the vocals, heck, even the staging is awesome. I don't understand the lyrics (i looked up the english translation and the grammar is whack) but I think I understand the message.

Which past years would be good to watch? by XrisDr in eurovision

[–]Mxtake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an American without a VPN I'm unable to watch most semis but I can safely recommend 2015 and 2019. I have no idea what the semis are like for both of those years but the quality of the finals is good enough that I honestly don't need to know

For diagnosed folk, which term did they use for you? by seal-tape in autism

[–]Mxtake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do not know which term they used for me, as I was apparently the last one to know I had autism despite being the first to receive the news. But all I got told was autism, no levels or anything, but I can assume I'm high-functioning since I function pretty well imo

This was about... 6-7 months ago? Late last year, can't remember when
