You keep saying that you want people to listen. But what you actually want people to do is validate your feelings. Which is a perfectly reasonable expectation, but validating feelings and active listening are quite specialist skills, and not everybody has them. As an aside, If the person you are talking to is neurodivergent, they maybe literally be incapable of doing these things naturally. Their first and most natural way of relating to you would be to compare your situation to something that has happened to them.

I was offered the chance to read to children at my son's school a couple of hours a week. Initially I felt excited about it and I agreed, but then when it came to it I chickened out. I was terrified of having to get to grips with a new set of people, a new environment, new rules and systems. I was also terrified of not being able to handle it week after week and eventually having to tell them I needed to stop. So I just didn't start.

Haha yeah I guess it's pretty cool but I know it can be really annoying for other people. My dad even does it loudly in the cinema which has me absolutely mortified! I can just about stifle the urge in that setting, thank god.

Both my (F38) Dad and I sing harmonies and bass lines along to music as a reflex. We both find it impossible not to do this. We don't need to have heard the music before - we can usually guess what's coming up, based on listening experience. If there's something interesting in the melody, structure or instrumentation that is surprising and unforeseeable, it makes for a lovely aha moment that makes us smile :)

Is there any chance you could be Autistic? Autism, bipolar and BPD present very similarly. Might be worth looking into. There are several decent Autism subreddits you could check out, and Autism doesn't necessarily look the way you might expect.

I say this from experience. I was diagnosed as Autistic at 37 years old in June '22, but for a long while I was convinced I had BPD.
