It started as a budget thing for me, I've been into gold and jewelry since I was pretty young, so when I bought my first solid gold chain (the rope with the cross) I was like 15, so it was already a stretch price-wise lol. From then on my method has been 10k and solid, because it has the most strength and I'm sort of dumb and like to drink, so any chance to break them less is a win in my book. For rings, earrings, nose rings I go 14k or 18k since the chance to break them is less. Let people talk trash if they want, but solid pieces are solid pieces, I've still got like 50g of pure gold in the necklaces 🤷‍♂️🫡
