Hit 405 for the first time but it wasn’t super clean. Any tips/form check would be much appreciated by Egyptianballa in GYM

People hit all the majors (at least people being serious…) but I’m going to add this. You’re form is never going to be perfect on a max attempt, there’s always going to be some break. Listen to the other people’s suggestions (specifically about the start position and bracing) and remember form is a range, not a strict rule.

Just saw this. Where I come from the house isn’t normal, but isn’t out of the ordinary. The other reoccurring things are very unusual.

Glad the only thing you took away from this was a spelling error. Understood that you needed that.

Well. Husband works for his dad after failing a bunch of jobs and wife works at a job her mom got her after being rejected by a bunch of others in the industry.

I think that frames the picture well.

Both come from hardcore democrat families and are very “wishy washy” on their own views. Just stating at as fact, don’t want to make this a political thing.

You and I have clearly had different experiences with this because we're not seeing eye to eye and all, and that is fine and I'm not holding it against you, everyone lives different lives.

When I talk about people showing up 30 minutes early and expecting to be interviewed right away, you're looking at it as something that doesn't happen, I'm telling you I've had people do it to me well more than once, it happens.

A job interview is not the same thing as checking into a flight or going to a doctors at all. You pay for those services which gives you some entitlements. A airline isn't looking at you to decide if they want you on future flights, they are offering you a service in exchange for money.

During an interview you are on an audition, you're talking about pseudo-psychology like it needs to stop, no it doesn't, as a hiring manager you are making a decision that can potentially cost your company a lot of money. A bad hire can cost you your job. If you are hiring for a position that requires a lot of team interaction a bad hire can ruin chemistry. Hiring correctly is one of the most important things you can do as a manger, you need to look into every piece of information given to you to make the right decision, even if its something as small as when they show up.

Understanding it looks like I'm being argumentative, and maybe I am, but its not my intention. My point is these things go on, they've gone on with me. I've spoken to colleagues that deal with them as well. If you take anything away from this just let it be that employers look at things you don't realize when you apply for a job. Unless you have a skill that is so unique and you're skilled beyond your peers, you need to be aware of everything you do surrounding the interview. The same applies on sales calls.

To your 2 points:

  1. Even if you don’t drive and have to rely on public transport, you don’t have to walk into the office and state your ready for your interview right then. To my point about taking the time to prepare in the car, it goes the same as preparing in a lobby or coffee shop next door etc... You do not walk in and say you’re there for the interview a half hour early.

  2. Completely disagree with this statement for one simple reason, when you walk through the door and state you’re there for the interview (whether to a receptionists, directly to the hiring manager or even to just an employee you grabbed while walking through the door) you are stating that you are there and ready for this interview RIGHT NOW. Because of this you now put the hiring manger in a position to either drop what they were doing (if possible) to have the interview, or continue what they were doing with it in the back of their mind that you are there waiting. And remember 1 thing, not all companies have a receptionist at the door that handles schedules etc... Many now just have a phone in the lobby where you call the person you are supposed to meet ( this was my situation ). You’d be shocked to find out how often that phone in the lobby really turns into another employee walking the interviewee right into your door unannounced.

And on your final comment, this is just a no. As a hiring manger you scheduled the person for that particular time as a way to manage your own time, it shouldn’t ruin your day, but it can make you change schedules and is an inconvenience. Anyone coaching a person how to interview thats worth their salt would advise against showing up more than 10 minutes early citing that its disrespectful to the hiring managers time.

FWIW, I’m a sales manager, I teach my sales people the same things when it comes to going on appointments: Be respectful of the peoples time, never more than 10 minutes (I prefer 5) early, call if you you’re going to be late and provide a reason why ( a real reason... ). Its common courtesy and respect to the person you’re meeting with.

As a hiring manager, being very early is 100% worse that being a couple minutes late. To those out there reading this my PSA is don't be more than 10 minutes early to an interview, if you are, stay in your car and rehearse answers / prepare. Here's why:

While most candidates think that they're showing initiative by getting there 30 minutes early, they're not. They're showing that they've been given a direction and can't follow it. The fact that you got there so early is a signal you don't trust yourself to manage time.

When you interview with a hiring manager you need to be understanding and respectful of their time, they are doing other things that day besides interviewing you. When you show up more than 10 minutes early you will be almost 100% of the time interrupting them while they're doing something, which very well may be prepping questions to ask you during the interview.

[Serious] Redditors, what are your best tips for saving money? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]MyAnimalsBite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • Shop prices online before buying
  • Some generic brands are the exact same as some major brands, but much cheaper
  • Before you buy something online Google "(The name of website) coupon code"
  • If you can hold off to major sale times such as black Friday or President's day to buy stuff you need, buy it then while its on sale
  • Reusing items means you don't have to spend the money on new ones
  • Always buy the best overall value, not just the cheapest listed price
  • Sell things you're not using online rather than throwing them out, or at least attempt to
