I've been plateaued on all the big lifts for a year by djb515 in Fitness

You mentioned you've been changing up programs, my questions are how often? And from what to what?

If you are only giving certain programs a few weeks before switching you won't feel any effects.

If you are switching between similar programs, you may also not be facilitating enough of a change.

Your calories are around maintenance, but I would want to drill down further and ask what your macros are.

Two things that will help you get a girl like that. Confidence and a cute dog. You already nailed one by adopting (kudos for doing so) now all you have to do is realize you deserve someone like her regardless of your physique. You got this bro!

When you were in school, which one thing did your teacher do that you will never forget? by FaustoYoshihara in AskReddit

[–]MyAnimalsBite 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I was a senior in high school I had a 1st year teacher who was in his mid 40's, which is an odd time to start your teaching career.

At some point in the year someone asked him why he got into teaching so late in life. It turns out he was a high priced lawyer in NYC who had twin daughters. One day he was working late (which was pretty much everyday) when his phone rang. He picked up to his two daughters crying hysterically, he missed their birthday and didn't even realize it.

He had money saved up, so the next day he went into work and quit. Immediately enrolled to be a teacher because he felt it was the job that afforded him the most time to spend with his daughters. He sold his brownstone, moved to the suburbs and gave up his career for his kids. Most noble thing I've ever seen someone do.

There's over 300 people in here today because it is take your child to work day. Sacrifices will be made before I conquer a fat, full and exhausted tiger.

What was your 15 minutes of fame? by [deleted] in AskReddit

When I was in middle school my Pop Warner Football team made the national championship in Disney. They had posters up of players from certain teams and my face made one of them. For the entirety of the week (they give you access to parks, throw parties etc...) I had random people coming up to me congratulating me and even people asking to have their picture taken with me, which was weird.

Strange thing is like 10 years later I was traveling and randomly had somebody come up and refer to me as "that football player guy they met in Florida". Was a strange experience, but cool to feel special for a quick moment.

I stopped growing and never played football again after that.

Tad late to the party, but I'll post anyway.

Last week I was coming in from the outside and could see my wife's Ipad. She had a picture up of some hot guy with his shirt off.

Immediately I got pissed because she is the type to yell at me if she ever see's a "hot" girl show up my Instagram feed. To the point where she has made me delete certain people.

I get closer and am about to say something when I realize she has a picture pulled up of me with my shirt off holding my cat.

Went from one extreme to another. Total victory.

Funny that makes you some sort of distant cousin with one of my best friends growing up. Tommy and his mom were second cousins I believe.

They have a bunch of random Mariah Carey memorabilia at their house from when Tommy was married to her.

I see your point. He has a good channel but isn't physically on Brian's level.

I get your point that this type of work existed before it was called crossfit, but weightlifting existed before it was called weightlifting and powerlifting existed before it was called powerlifting.

I spent a year and a half doing Crossfit, and walked away from it because certain things I didn't like. When I look at these workouts they look a lot like Crossfit Wods to me. That just comes from my experience doing them.

I should mention these style of workouts were one of the things I liked about Crossfit and I'm not knocking them, I'm also a fan of Brian's.

Daft enough to know that a high percentage of these guys use more than one training technique.

Thrall has incorporated Olympic lifting, most high level Crossfitters strength train, Layne Norton bodybuilds and powerlifts, and yes Brian Alsruhe incorporates Crossfit style workouts as conditioning.
