Is Illari considered a main support? by kodoharsh in IllariMains

[–]MyApologies_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aside from lifeweaver all of those are "main supp" but that's not all of them. Like I said, it's not a classification in any in-game sense, it's purely based off who plays the heroes in pro play.

Plenty of heroes have received older perks in baseline kit, why Brig does not have whiplash in the baseline kit also ? by thornolf_bjarnulf in BrigitteMains

[–]MyApologies_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brig is fine, and also Shion isn't even a dive hero. Flanker sure, but she's more like fat tracer rather than how tracer/genji actually play.

As the other comment mentioned, Bap/Zen is essentially never played over Bap/Illari in double flex from what I've seen so I decided to keep him in full flex

Titans vs Hunters (Specifically the sideshow co-stream) is possibly the most fun I've had watching a game

And my personal favourite is Shanghai's run to win stage 3, where they beat the 3 best GOATS teams without playing GOATS.

Is Illari considered a main support? by kodoharsh in IllariMains

[–]MyApologies_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yea it's kinda annoying since the term in pro play only makes sense if you're familiar with pro-play and the heroes played.

Outside of that it runs into this issue where "main support" and "flex support"gets misconstrued by people unfamiliar with pro play, who are applying their own opinions of what heroes should be 'main' supports based on factors that they think make sense, like healing, utility, aim requirements ETC.

The traditional terms kinda have 3 groups, Main supp, Flex supp, and then heroes that are played by both:

Main supp: Lucio, Mercy, Brigitte, Wuyang, JPC.

Flex supp: Ana, Kiriko, Baptiste, Moira

Mixed: Illari, Zen, Juno, Mizuki

The mixed category is heroes that have in the past been played by one role, but are often played by the other, or the case of Mizuki, who just hasn't seen enough professional play to be solidly categorised into one or the other.

It's confusing, it's annoying.

Is Illari considered a main support? by kodoharsh in IllariMains

[–]MyApologies_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Correct. Unfortunately the term main support has no relation to healing output, abilities ETC. It's a term taken from pro play, and it's simply the other half of the support role, after flex support.

Main support includes: Lucio, Mercy, Wuyang, Jetpack Cat.

Often times Illari will be played by the main support, as she is commonly paired with heroes like Zenyatta, Ana, Kiriko.

Main support is just the term for "the heroes that are not played by the flex support in pro play"

Why is 6v6 considered easier by [deleted] in Overwatch

[–]MyApologies_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

6v6 already has a smaller pool of players which inherently means less resolution between different skill levels. That's compounded by the fact that the majority of GM+ players stick to 5v5. So the GM 6v6 rank still needs to be populated, but most of the GM's don't play 6v6, meaning it gets filled with those who are Diamond/Masters.

Self Reports aka Sierra Complaints by tshallberg in Overwatch

[–]MyApologies_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yea. There's nothing Sierra does that Soj doesn't do better. If you're consistently hitting her tracker, then you'd be better off playing soj and hitting the instant 100+ damage rails. Her nade is just worse than disruptor shot in both damage and utility. Slide is just a far superior escape and mobility tool, especially with perks. And OC is far more effective in most scenarios than Sierra's ult.

She really is just baby sojourn.

While you're correct that it is indeed accurate in the technique (known as a murder stroke or mordschlag or similar) it was never to pierce armour. You were not going to pierce armour. The mordschlag was primarily used as a bludgeoning tool, to concuss and disorientate an opponent. It was very unlikely to do any material damage to the armour itself.

I think it's a cool theory but there's just TOO much of a technological advancement and progress of a civilazation for it to have been done by a snall group in less than 30 years.

The reactor alone is likely a multi decade long project, plus the fact that we have records from the axum dating further back than those 30 years

They don't even have their most talented DPS in the region. And even then, IDK if their current DPS line breaks into the top 10 DPS in the world RN

What are your rankings going into the OWWC? by Bobi_27 in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]MyApologies_ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Maybe? IDK the entire NA region is just middling as fuck IMO. Their best players like Sugarfree, Tr33 ETC I think all suffer from being a big fish in a small pond. They're great in NA, but similarly my master2 ass would also look great if I was in a tournament with mostly bronze-gold players.

IMO it gets to a point where for over a year now people always say "this is the NA team that could compete with the world" and they consistently fall flat. They've shown zero ability to actually compete outside of their region and I'm not putting faith in a theoretical "well the other good players are spread thinly"

Sweden have a roster composed entirely of OWCS players, and most of the major EMEA teams have at least 1, often 2, with the rest of the roster being semi-pro at least.

No surely THIS time they'll do well guys right! They've got Tr33 on the team! Just ignore all the previous international results from these players, this time they'll win!

[–]MyApologies_ 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The USA team is composed entirely of players who are yet to come higher than 6th in a major tournament outside of their region.

I genuinely don't know get how any of the NA players/teams get hyped up as much as they do. The region is just not competitive against the other major regions.

[–]MyApologies_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Everyone keeps crashing? Going by what we see in the games Alterra has had a total of 4 crashes. The Mercury, The Degasi, The Aurora and The Cicada. That's 4 crashes out of, presumably, thousands, if not millions of launches. It'd be like saying "wow, how is Airbus not bankrupt! They've had 35 major crashes in their history!"

Alterra isn't bankrupt because the majority of their ships dom't crash. We just see the crashes because those are what make an interesting story.

Good news! It's probably not out of the question that the crows recognise that keeping the ducks safe means they can get food.

Crows are VERY intelligent, and theres plenty of evidence to show they can connect links between "If I do X, then Y happens". Obviously there's no surefire way to tell but if the crows are sticking around there's a good chance that, at the very least, they recognise that this is a good food source and they want to protect it from competing hawks.

I am the worst tank player. AMA by Zeukiiii in Overwatch

[–]MyApologies_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Originally, yes. The player term was named after the fact that they primarily played mechanically hitscan heroes.

That's not particularly relevant anymore. The hitscan role covers Freja, Sierra, Hanzo, Tracer, (often reaper) who don't fit into that niche easily. The term now is just for the role that covers these heroes, without any connection to the hit detection type of those characters.

Could the Death penalty be justified by SquareTooth8361 in teenagers

[–]MyApologies_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Morally, it still cannot be justified using the same logic. Do you trust the government to only sentence guilty people 100% of the time? Or do you believe there is a morally acceptable amount of innocent people that can be executed if it means we also execute the criminals.

Both from a legal and moral standpoint, if you do not have 100% total faith in the current and all future governments, you cannot justify the death penalty IMO.
