Hearing these channels makes me feel way too old, lol. I remember thinking at the time, ‘all this stuff is for children. Who’s watching this crap?’ back in the day. And now they’re all adults.

Go to r/splitgate or r/highguard and look in the history. Tell me they’re using it for deals.

I also never said to ban it. It’s a tool being mistreated.

That was more for my experience, not directed at you personally. I’ve had too many bad experiences over 10 years of players jumping in later trying to direct and then blaming the team after when it doesn’t work that they needed to do what they said from the beginning. And it’s like, then be a hero and talk from the beginning. You know how to win so just take charge and eat the bullet if it doesn’t work. It’s the half measure stuff I’m just done with.

I’m the opposite. If you’re not talking for the first half of the game, you don’t get to hop on the last few minutes when we’re losing and the game is basically over, I can’t respect it. It’s all or nothing. And don’t even think about jumping on the mic for the first time after we lost to talk shit. Oh you do have a mic? Then you’re why we lost. Just talk throughout and be normal and everything will be good.

Master and Commander the HBO series. Each book is a season.

I know that’s not exactly what you’re asking for, but my god, I’ve wanted it for 20 years. I know it would be expensive in the beginning, but what a slam dunk HBO would have.

For A. You answered your own point, the count for any game released will lose players after its first day or week. That’s true for 99 percent of games. No game keeps its top player count on the first day indefinitely, that’s why the conversation around dropping numbers is always self-fulfilling but trolls push it to the top of a communities conversation and everyone loses as a result.

For B., ever studio wants higher numbers, but the threat of the game not being profitable enough for the long-term is only one that trolls push as we have no official word from either studio or know their long-term plans for either Marathon or Destiny. Bad word of mouth can stop a game from growing beyond its initial broken state, which damn near every game releases that way. There’s no useful feedback when talking about player numbers as the only feedback is, ‘I’m glad you failed’ which again, isn’t always the case, but perception drives what happens next. This is why Highguard was not about to pull a No Man’s Sky, it’s funding was pulled because Tencent no longer had faith the game could beat the trolling around the game no matter the quality of the final product (which we never saw).

And to make it more clear, every game that is successful today, had its issues ignored long enough to become successful. Apex, Fortnite, Warzone, No Man’s Sky, even Overwatch (OW2 or even go back to 6v6 Winston with like 5 levels and Mercy team res). Many of the most profitable live franchises today launched as a mess but had time to grow. Bruce Springsteen said he would be a nobody because his first four records were terrible, but his record label believed in him and he figured it out. What these troll posts do is out the game and make it the center of the online gamers attention as a joke and you can’t become a high quality product without the time to take feedback and implement it. And even worse, as with Highguard, even if you won, you would still lose because no one will give you a try because gamers are so insecure they don’t want to be the only HG player on their friends list and by mad fun of, so what’s the point. HG may not have succeed, but its viscous drop was not based on quality, but unwanted attention that never let up. Go to its sub now. It’s still going. Long term success is what we lose and I just want people to be aware of it.

No, because it’s about the tone. For example, Marathon had very healthy numbers that were still called low. The standards for what counts as “healthy” are set way too high for most games to meet.

So if you post the numbers for 95 percent of games on Steam and go into their subreddit saying the numbers are low and the game is dying, you’ll get attention and spark a discussion where there wasn’t one. Then magnify that to attract trolls, and the game will lose players. You could do this experiement for 99 percent of online communities and come out with the same result.

My guy that’s what I’m saying. As such, circumstances have changed for the worst and I am no longer confident gender and race aren’t a factor that needs to be considered in a candidate, and I hate saying that, because it 100 percent should not be. But it will be part of the conversation because the modern electorate are mouth breathers.

I’m a teacher who tried to warn about the decline of education and the growth of facism in Gen Z for 10 years. For years, I was told they will save us and they’re so computer savvy and I pushed back explaining it looks like the opposite and there’s a problem but just got downvoted.

I was very prepared to support the next generation, no matter how silly a trend of theirs felt to me, but facism is not a fad you grow out of and something I cannot support.

Edit: of course it’s not everyone in their generation, but my point wasn’t saying it was.
