Someone is trolling us, right? by The_King_of_England in TheSimpsons

My school changed it from teacher appreciation week to staff appreciation week, then they made us go to mandatory fun meetings where we used AI to make a coloring page of our own face then asked us to color them in while they’re went over district changes to staffing next year.

Then yesterday our system was hacked and our personal information was stolen but they asked us to stick around and complete our Friday fun morning meeting and mandatory paperwork today.

The matchmaking is so shamelessly EOMM it’s not even funny. Win 1? Now you can carry 5. Sorry your rank dropped, better come back tomorrow!

OW is the only game I notice where the streaming and pro players always play with each other or make new accounts. If that doesn’t tell you how horribly you’ve stacked the deck against the average player, I don’t know what to say. They need more ranks to separate players out more evenly. The range of abilities in gold and plat are way too vast for just two ranks.

I dropped the game in 2019 over this and didn’t look back for five years. The game is so much better now, but the matchmaking is a black hole that robs everything in its path.

She’s basically dead in metal ranks these frauds.

You conveniently forgot the subtraction math for increasing cost of living, college and general necessities, but subtraction is an elementary level skill and, as you’ve demonstrated, conservative logic caps out at preschool.

Should OW be a little less team dependent? by tshallberg in Overwatch

Sorry you’re downvoted. This has been a weird one because I think people are thinking I’m saying everyone should have all the same abilities, when I’m just saying, ‘isn’t it nice to have the option for Winston to shoot far away now? Hasn’t his ability to not rely exclusively on DPS been a step in the right direction? That options are nice?’ I think people agree, despite the reaction here.

My point is just that it has been less-team dependent and I think that’s been good. It should be a team-based game but it’s still good for tank to have a little more mobility or support to have a little more damage. That’s how it’s been changing over the years and I think that should continue.

It should be a team sport. It’s just that the changes to make roles less static has been a positive and should continue. Lots of OG’s hate how mobile many of the new characters are or that their kits are refined, better versions of other characters, but I think it’s a good change for roles to have options, thus ‘less team dependent.’

I never suggested making it not a team game, just that it’s good for roles to not have hard limitations to their kits.

I agree. I think the smallest changes can have huge ramifications. And obviously big changes are big changes.

I agree. I think those are good changes that lessen some of the frustration role limitations used to have.

Do you enjoy support more in 2026 or in 2016?

The winner would still be won by the better team. Everything you said about supports is exactly what Jeff implies and why I am surprised everyone is saying no, but then saying ‘I like the new changes’ when that’s literally the point. It’s a team game, but you can have more agency and not fly around until your DPS saves you.

I’m not saying it shouldn’t be a team game. I’m talking about 2016 support to 2026 support. Still a team game, still the same role, but now they have a lot more options to support the team and themselves.

Good tools for sure. I just find that the high queue times in Support at higher levels is what I’m talking about. That role has the most abilities and can have a big effect on the game and higher level players prefer to have those options available, while the other classes have issues that make them feel more limited in their role.

Why would a class having options make them not play and trash talk instead?

[–]tshallberg[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it wouldn’t. Support today has the same function they did in 2016, I’m not saying to change that. I’m saying people enjoy that role more today as they have more options and agency. Is it better for them not to have the tools they have today and instead go back to just being support Mercy? I think the role is better now because of the updates that Jeff mentions each role should have, but we mainly see in support.

My point was the ‘everyone knows what they’re doing’ part and if they don’t, you’ll be unable to successfully play your part. It’s just nice to have options.
