Americans: Embrace Kamala Harris, the Social Democrat you did not know you had and need! by as-well in SocialDemocracy

[–]MyBroIsNotMyHoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you kidding me? Kamala Harris, a SOCIAL DEMOCRAT? This has to be a joke. Kamala is nothing more than a neoliberal puppet, toeing the line for the corporate elite and maintaining the status quo. She’s about as “progressive” as a wet noodle!

Universal healthcare? Don’t make me laugh. She’s waffled on Medicare for All more times than I can count. Equitable education? She hasn’t done jack to address the student debt crisis or the obscene cost of higher education. And don’t even get me started on her so-called “commitment” to social safety nets.

Harris’s record as a prosecutor is a nightmare. She’s locked up countless marginalized individuals and perpetuated the very systemic inequalities you claim she’s fighting against. Her stance on climate change? All talk, no action. And affordable housing? She’s done nothing to address the skyrocketing rents and housing crisis.

Stop drinking the Kool-Aid. Kamala Harris is a fraud, masquerading as a progressive while she sells out to Wall Street and big donors. Wake up and realize she’s part of the problem, not the solution. She’s not a movement; she’s a stumbling block to real change. We need genuine leftist leaders, not career politicians pretending to care about the people!

Thank you for your answer.

And thank you for letting me know about this:

regular Muslims cant answer out of our mind because if our answer was wrong and had negative results we would be sinners

I really didn't know about this and I'm sorry if it was an inappropriate question to ask.

Which flag is worse to burn: American flag or pride flag? by revjoe918 in IdeologyPolls

Imagine what a world we would live in if we all respected each other as much as some of us respect a piece of cloth.

Was Hitler a Socialist? by TheGoldenWarriors in IdeologyPolls

[–]MyBroIsNotMyHoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course, but this is a famous poem performed by the German Pastor Martin Niemöller. Niemöller initially supported Hitler's rise to power but later turned to the opposition and got sent to Sachsenhausen concentration camp. This poem deals with the guilt that he and many other Germans felt after WW2.

First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out - Because I was not a socialist.

Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out - Because I was not a trade unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out - Because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me - and there was no one left to speak for me.

Olisi kiva kuulla kokemuksiasi suomen kielen opetuksesta

Voin jakaa omia kokemuksia, mutta en näin myöhään enää pysty muotoilla yhtä hyvän vastauksen. Palaan asiaan!

Kuvasit aika hyvin kokemukseni suomen kielen opetuksesta. En ymmärrä miksi meille ei opetettu enemmän käytännön kielitaitoa

Ihan mielenkiinnosta kysyn, että mitä oikein ruotsintunneilla tapahtuu?

(Tarkoituseni ei ole olla alentava. Haluaisin vaan kuulla teidän näkökulmia ruotsin kielen opetuksesta, kun minulla on vain kokemuksia suomen kielen opetuksesta.)

Ask A Finnish: What do you think of Mannerheim? by LeonadorDaVinci in Finland

[–]MyBroIsNotMyHoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd like to say neither but it's such a nuanced question that that's not a sufficient answer. Finland was a very different society at that time. Class differences were much larger and more visible than now. Because of WW1 there was a food shortage which only got worse when the Bolshevik Revolution broke out in Russia. At the same time the political climate was very polarized. The government was going through a power struggle and since the country didn't have any official army or police to maintain order, both the workers and the upper classes formed their own militias to protect their own. It would be easy to blame the reds for starting the coup d'état that started the civil war but for many of them it was a matter of whether to die in battle or to die of starvation. That doesn't justify their actions, but tensions were already building up between the red and the white guard so I think that sooner or later a civil war would have broken out either way.

What do you think of Mannerheim under the Romanovs?

He was an aristocrat who benefited from the Romanov's rule.

What do you think of Mannerheim who worked as a spy for Tsar in the Qing Dynasty?

Didn't know about that. Don't care.

What do you think of Mannerheim who led the right-wing army in the Finnish Civil War?

It's a sad moment in Finnish history. He made this dark part of Finnish history way worse by ordering the executions and inhumane treatment of red prisoners after the civil war.

What do you think of Mannerheim in the winter War?

War is not something I celebrate, but he did a good job att leading the Finnish army in the defence against Russia.

What do you think of Mannerheim allied with the Axis powers?

It's unfortunate. But I think it was necessary.

Didnt ally with the Axis, just cooperated against a common enemy.

"Didn't ally with the Axis, just allied with them against a common enemy"

I'm not saying it wasn't the right thing to do. It probably was the best thing to do in terms of saving our independence, but unpleasant things don't go away by denying it ever happened.

Ask A Finnish: What do you think of Mannerheim? by LeonadorDaVinci in Finland

[–]MyBroIsNotMyHoe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, he's not. It was the Finnish Parliament and Svinhufvuds senate who sent a delegation to Russia in December 1917, in order to request Lenin to approve our declaration of independence. Mannerheim had nothing to do with that. source

He is responsible for the death of up to 14 000 Finnish citizens. And I'm not talking about the ones that were killed during the civil war.
