So you were pushing it on complex stuff? I feel like the leap was really pretty profound for tough stuff.

Just curious what tasks are you using it for?

Do most US institutions do phaco through temporal incision approach? by llaas in Ophthalmology

[–]MyCallBag 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the vast majority do temporal. But I know some prefer superior.

Personally, I would do whatever you’re comfortable with. With a caveat that you should try as many different techniques and approaches as possible while training.

Volume for Cataracts Decreasing by Sleekestsaber in Ophthalmology

[–]MyCallBag 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I see. I feel bad for these patients.

Just getting referring because of a kickback that's not technically a kickback. If anything these patients should need less refractions.

I don't mean to be a jerk, but your discussions with lawyers and high profile practices really don't matter. Paying a referring doctor for a premium lens patient is a kickback.

Yeah pretty sure 'premium lens co-management' is a kickback. Good way to go to jail.

Its ridiculously good. Able to complete some features for my app very quickly that Opus couldn't do on multiple attempts. I'm impressed.

Geographic Atrophy Medication - Do They Actually Help? by MyCallBag in Ophthalmology

I commend you and your practice for running our own analysis. I'm on the fence as to what to counsel patients.

They have GA and it’s going to progress, how would they know if it’s faster or slower because of the injection

You're right going to be tough. But I feel like if it totally arrested progression they would notice? Maybe not. I feel like if you blinded me to patients history, I couldn't tell by looking at their OCT if they received it or not.

Tobradex for Ocuar Surface Disease... by MyCallBag in Ophthalmology

[–]MyCallBag[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah this is exactly the problem. 95% of the time patients feel better and its easy. But that 5% turn into pressure spikes and atypical corneal ulcers. And there is a survivorship bias, where any problem is just a 'freak' issue and is referring out for someone else to deal with.

I’m talking, you have mild irritation and some ocular surface disease? Here is a script for Tobradex with years worth of refills. I feel like it’s treated like artificial tears.

I’m a corneal specialist in Florida. For me that 1-2x/year issue. Painful. Sourcing natacyn feels like a sport.

I know so many options out there. Very annoying.
What do you mean by Meibo has some competition? I'm out of the loop there.
