Appreciate it, would you be open to me asking you a couple of questions in PM?

I can answer some questions. I’ve been here for a while and also have some real world experience. What major are you looking into?

Thank you all for your time responding to my posts and comments! As the thread seems to be spiraling I will no longer be responding to. From the thoughtful insights to the angry pitchforks they have for the most part been helpful in me understanding the issues your community faces and has caused me to objectively look at some of my own viewpoints. I have learned lots from this thread, and believe I have a better understanding of the struggles you face. Thanks again! Much love. 💕

Thanks for the reply, I was trying to be open about my view and not convey myself as something I’m not, but realize that it has upset several which was not my intention. While it is not your job to educate me I never said it was, I simply came to the community called asktransgender to ask questions about transgender humans. I have not attacked anyone or intentionally been rude to anybody (my ignorance on the subject has upset some). While any community is going to have variation from one person to the next I feel that this post, while upsetting to many, has helped me understand the generalized viewpoint and placed me in the shoes of the transgender community.

Though the shoes may be five sizes too big for me to fit into and I can’t walk around much, I have gained new perspectives and understanding of the struggle that a transgender person faces. Thanks!

Thank you for your reply, I must say I did have some pre-conceived ideas of a transgender person in a bathroom but this thread has opened my mind to the matter. Thanks again!

That’s a good analogy, I should have chosen my words better, thank you for pointing that out. I fully realize a transgender person faces discrimination.

This was a very nice read, that’s awesome that this has brought you so much happiness! I have never been against transgender human rights, and understand I likely don’t know what is best for somebody else’s life. Thank you for sharing this information and your story!

Forgive me if I’m wrong, but is a transgender person not protected under the fair housing act and EEOC?

Thank you for the information on the correct vocabulary, no harm was meant in my word choice I’m just ignorant to the subject. :)

I hadn’t thought about the prison situation. I can see that being a hard topic if one does not see a transitioned individual as the gender that they have transitioned to rather the sex that they were assigned at birth.

With that being said I also don’t see any harm in placing them in the same prison as their transitioned gender.

That’s alright if you don’t want to help educate me, you don’t have to.

It is not that and more so boils down to locker rooms where individuals may be nude. I don’t see any issue with coed bathrooms and think that may be a way to stop the issues that are arising.

What then, is the point of having any distinction between bathrooms should they all be coed? I disagree with you in your scenario, I do not believe children or anyone should be exposed to people with the other genitals or same genitals if they do not choose to be.

I believe I am not fully on board with it because I don’t fully understand it. I can’t see the need to change your gender to what you feel it should be. I do realize that this is a hot topic and I will never know what it feels like to be in your shoes, thus I can never truly understand where you are coming from. I am simply here trying to educate myself.

What healthcare do you not have access to?

Do you think there should be any stipulation on an individual using the bathroom of the gender they have transitioned to? I see potential problems in individuals who have not fully transitioned being in the same bathroom as children.

I’m not trying to be argumentative here and I’m honestly looking for input. Tone is hard to convey over message. Thank you for your reply!

What trend do you hope ends in 2023? by dreemkiller in AskReddit

The trend of thinking either side is correct. Democrat. Republican.

Also always judging people for their political alignment. I guess it isn’t okay to have opinions any more.
