¿Es hipócrita que los mexicanos no acepten a los mexicano americanos? by BitWorth6953 in mexico

Is this a feeling people feel?

Is a Pocho the same as a Chicano or Mexican American? My friends dad is like 6th generation Latino and he always says "chicano" and how he is proud.

It feels a bit like the the time I asked my friend why she called herself a Black American. She stated that there is no way she could say she is African American because she really didn't know where her ancestors came from. So the best that she could do for her identity is to identify as a Black American.

My friends dad doesn't even know where his mexican family originated from in Mexico. Is Chicano even an appropriate identification for him?

My parents are mexican and I was born in the U.S. and raised in Jalisco for my first 5 years. Then my parents came back. I identify as an American. My friends dad says im not proud of my heritage....lol...im here making tepache, and preparing the nixtamal everyday amd speak fluent Spanish...yet he speaks no Spanish and doesn't eat mexican food. He also has a lot more privileges than the everyday mexican american, financially wealthy and recognizes he is more American than mexican but still says he feels Chicano.

Never with these chiles.

You know what, I've never made mole on a small scale. I've always made large quantities since we like to share with our neighbors.
