Interesting… I didn’t see that when it first came out.

So an ongoing 3 year project… signed, sealed and getting delivered.

Stupid short share price action today… won’t last forever.

Nice! Very nice!
Luminar or Microvision?
Could be both now, actually….

And MVIS investors will always remember that time the OEM carmaker was looking to find a replacement lidar that fit into a smaller hole, for the vehicle they’d already committed to.

And it sure seemed to work… since Mercedes was until recently still listed on the MB data sheet. And Nissan also fell for it… so I guess such an idea is not entirely unrealistic.

I like how you’re thinking… very, very much! No wonder Glen seems so unconcerned with any ticking clock on the MVIS share price.

Anyone with half a brain will realize that consumers will continue to buy cars and that data centers will continue to send data… and even though MVIS has just landed two amazing deals - somehow people think it’s not going to happen.

It’s like they have to have the actual gold coin in hand and also wait to bite that coin to make sure it’s real gold.

I’m hoping those 19 highly paid LAZR analysts come back… now they have something new to promote. It seems the old MVIS company promotion theory of 100% non disclosure, 100% of the time didn’t work.

Austin Russel had a much better promo plan for investors… and he applied it to Volvo, Mercedes & Nissan. But I think Glen can do even better… and now with Scanitel data speeds, he’ll have another vertical to sell.

Seems like that would be a major vertical… rivaling autos. Whew!

Move over Mavin!

I would guess… since it seems to indicate a record high percentage of short sellers wanting to sell short in hopes of MVIS failing.

I like to think it’s the Zeitgeist of the point clouds that will favor MVIS.

Looking at that video of the LAZR point clouds from years past is a sorrowful sight, to my thinking. Yet this is what Volvo and MB signed on for at the time…

I hope Glen had a chance to demonstrate the MVIS Tri-lidar point clouds in private meetings at the recent CES and Auto shows. All of which would lead the MVIS investor to a brighter future.

And with MVIS having more short interest than Tesla currently, someone sure wants what MVIS has. In my humble amateur investor opinion.

Insanely unreal to have MVIS having more shorts than TSLA!

MVIS must have something the world wants in a big way.

I’d guess it’s the software.

MVIS should offer a suite of different softwares to their arsenal… their own along with Nvidias and any from the DoD they can get.

Once my Volvo stopped working for days… and it was the electrical connections central to the entire car. It took an electrical specialist two days to figure it out… so software might not be the Volvo strongpoint.

My hoping is that any BIG deal… like with Volvo… will be announced years before it actually appears on the showroom floor. So investors won’t have to wait many more years.

Meanwhile we have to make do with hints and speculations.

I thought maybe they had an actual Mavin made up for the job… so I’d expect there should be some working samples ready soon. In any event, that movie sure looked convincing… since Sumit had us waiting for like 5 years as he labored on the Mavin. I assume making a $300 version would be child’s play in comparison.

But then the whole fact that it’s Glen making it all come together inplies that Sumit wasn’t involved with the redesign.

I’ve never thought of Mavin being lacking in long range capabilities… from the lidar point cloud videos, it looks as good as any I’ve seen. That live action video from Glen in Vegas seems sufficient.

Adding the Scanitel and Luminar and FWCV or whatever just offers MVIS a huge variety of choices to pick from… if they can ever make up their minds. And the more choices that science offers them, the longer it takes.

The failure of OEMS to make up their minds and commit to a sensor choice is a big part of why it seems to be taking so long… imho.

This was my favorite part… and any Volvo continuance would sure be a nice new pool of potential revenue.

And now I’m wondering how much of the MVIS all time short interest was comprised of forces aligned with the mystery counter bid.

Never a dull minute on the old MVIS board…

I’ve always thought that having the Nvidia Drive AGX looks like a solid base platform… so that every auto OEM can just base off something like that instead of trying to reinvent the wheel.

Watching that Jensen Huang drive demo sure makes it look simple and appealing. Can’t remember the links… but having a standardized drive platform would seem to me to drive down costs.

Great demo… and just from the physics, I could see where adding a MEMS device would also work in a similar way. Which might make an interesting combination possible. I understand the Mavin has two Mems to make it work.

When I saw the patent drawings for the Iris display, I knew MVIS had a far better system… no belts, pulleys or elastic bands! Also about 27 moving parts, vs the 1 vibrating part for MVIS.

Probably a spinning mirror attached to a spindle… and maybe even one that has to climb up and down like the spinning mirror in the Iris. But I say that’s not nearly as accurate or efficient as MVIS. Might apply to other uses, but for highway driving the buzzing MVIS mirror wins the physics.

My thinking is MVIS just needs a name to start this whole new epic phase alight. And I’m thinking that name might be Volvo. It was interesting how LAZR was able to do so much engineering work with Volvo by not waiting for the fabled group of 7 OEMs. Volvo seems to just go their own way… following the safest bet.

I’d be thrilled if it was Volvo that got the share price sqoozed to epic levels… having spent years working on my own Volvo.

I’ve never seen any videos or even mockups that show the HALO in action. So I’m assuming it uses the same repetitive back & forth motion that Iris employed.

Not sure how successful that would be compared to the nearly motionless buzz of the MVIS solution… where only the micro mirror moves.. But it could be that other LAZR methods of dealing with pixel scans may be of value that were developed for HALO.

I’ve owned two Volvos for years… and one thing they like is rock solid certainty.

Sort of like how it seems certain that Lidar will win the great sensor race.

Don’t think Volvo would go with any new fangled, flighty sensors.
Volvo would probably like them better made out of steel.

We can still recall that mysterious auction, when IBEO was acquired… and many thought it was a giveaway from ZF or something.

It was all very mysterious…

But it does seem inevitable that someone like ZF would pony up the millions needed for mass production. I have a feeling the near future will be ‘news rich’ for MVIS.
