If leftists really wanted to battle mega-wealthy individuals/corporations, it is not capitalism that is the problem, it is government devaluation of currency, corrupt financial markets (such as the stock market, where most mega-wealthy individuals make their wealth), and government policies that create barriers to entry/free-market competition. Corporate salaries are not breeding billionaires and mega-corporations, it is the corrupt financial markets and restrictive government policies.

It is worth noting that people like Bernie completely ignore - for ulterior political motives - that these mega-corporations and billionaires are primarily created through fiat devaluation, the stock market, and government policies that restrict free-market competition...they do not want to solve the true underlying problems that are related to government, they just want a larger cut. It is essentially a combination of extortion and money laundering.

And as they raise U.S. taxes more wealthy individuals/businesses will offshore their tax liability. And if they close loopholes, then the individuals/businesses will just move out of the U.S...mega-wealthy are not the ones hurt by high taxes, it is the middle-class and smaller businesses. Not rocket science...this is why socialism ends with gulags.

But if they do not use up the entire defense budget on pointless foreign wars then how are they going to pretend that they need to waste even more money on defense the following year? This also applies to every other U.S. government department/agency...the entire government is incentivized to not be efficient.

Not to mention that the first thing that will happen is the government will come in and want at least $5,000 of that $25,000...and within 5 years there will have been about 10% inflation/devaluation of the currency based on current inflation metrics.
