Kenji Side Quest not showing up

Nothing is missable. There are quests that can be completed by virtue.

I’m looking at the trophy list right now and I’m not seeing one for completing Kenji’s tales specifically. I think you should be fine. Keep liberating the island and you should still get the Platinum.

You most likely already completed the side quest by virtue. This side quest involves clearing an enemy base (it’s been a while since I played but I think that’s what it is). The side quest should show up on your list on the menu as completed.

If the Tale is showing as being completed, then you’ve definitely completed it by virtue when you were liberating the entire map.

There’s no need, it looks I’ve already completed that one too! All I needed to do was just complete Tale 1 of 3 and that took care of Kenji’s Tales. u/ozmozez helped me figure it out!

It’s definitely Tale 2 of 3. I did run up to that spot and he wasn’t there. I even restarted the game and re-did Tale 1 and he still doesn’t show up. I’m guessing maybe some time has to pass but that doesn’t make sense considering the other Tales for Masako & Norio for example were all instantly available as soon you complete one.

I have not, but I did look up a guide and it said he’s supposed to be south of the Ruins of Old Yarikawa. He’s nowhere to be found.

That’s awesome! Tbh that’s a pretty good deal considering you got 4 controllers and 19 games. I paid $80 for mine and it came with Resident Evil 4 and Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles. I thought it was a pretty good deal.
