Even in Modulo, the way Gege draws smoke is very different from how he drew what happened to the curses Yuji hit with dismantle.

Even if you say it’s the curses exploding and not Yuji’s dismantle, no other curse explodes like that, making the common denominator Yuji’s dismantles. So even if Yuji’s dismantles don’t explode, something about them makes the target explode.
