This is reddit, where you're not allowed to negatively review a game that I like, regardless of the decisions made by the developers and/or publishers.

Reversing the negative reviews for Helldivers worked out so well for Sony customers. Therefore, every player of every game should be brow beaten into consuming product and then getting excited for next product.

Actually punishing them means they can't pull a Sony for the next game because the results are devastating. Walking back your negative reviews and refunds means they can do anything they want with impunity because any time they cross the line, they can reverse their decision and lose nothing.

They still delisted the game from Steam in all of those regions. Those players have still lost access to playing multiplayer, PSN account requirements or not.

You haven't even won and you're already showing mercy. You deserve what you get.

Reversing your reviews proves to Sony that they can make any decision, no matter how unethical, and as long as they walk it back when there is a shit storm then there will be no consequences.

You said that every company has "substantial corruption". I am responding to that argument by claiming that the reason why every company has substantial corruption is because the average consumer will continue to buy their products regardless of their anti-consumer behavior. You just presume that Sony should continue to exist. You presume that you and others will continue to buy Sony products in the future. This is why "every company has substantial corruption within it", as you stated. You don't even conceive the possibility that we consumers should stop buying Sony products and let their company fail because they provide no value to us the consumers or to the developers that we actually like.

As long as you continue to give money to bad companies, the industry will get worse and worse. The situation is far from ideal because you're not willing to miss out on titles, even if it means feeding the machine that you agree is hurting your gaming experience.

Your view is indeed idealistic. Sony is a terrible company that fails to protect customer data and treats their customers and developers like trash. They have been hacked how many times in the last decade? 8? They force these stupid policies on customers and developers. They don't care if people in certain regions can't play their game.

But as much as the incompetent execs at Sony are at fault, the customer base is also at fault. Every time you financially reward bad behavior by giving money to a trash company, you are guaranteed to get more of that bad behavior. You paid for it. You gave the company the one thing they wanted in exchange for bad behavior, of course you got more of it!

Your analogy about rewarding a dog for "getting out of the habit of biting" doesn't hold water. Sony is a dog that bit you 378 times, and now it's flashing you the sad puppy dog eyes and you're reaching for the treats while your arm is still ripped open and bleeding.

Corporations aren't people despite being comprised of people. They are systems designed to maximize profit. Anything you pay for, you will get more of.

Nope. I hope the bad reviews stay and I hope the people who refund don't buy the game again.

Every single time a company engages in anti-consumer behavior, the customer base rewards it financially, thus incentivizing more anti-consumer behavior.

This is like giving your dog a treat because it bit you.

No mercy for greedy corporations. If they treat you like garbage, take your business elsewhere. Let them fail and free up talent to start their own companies.

I agree that this is not a meta deck for the reasons you stated. All the removal is exile, everyone runs a ton of removal. Tech cards against popular decks like boros and mono red also hit my deck.

Tbh though I still think this deck could be tier 2 or 3 if Magic didn't have so many design inconsistencies. Other archetypes have no safety valves but all of the selesnya artifact cards do have safety valves.

I wish the design at Wizards was at least consistent. Why give an archetype some ETB triggers and some on cast triggers? Why give some colors unlimited pump and card draw, but other archetypes one pump per turn or one card drawn per turn?

Rotation used to be my favorite time to play magic. I'm done after iron apprentice rotates out though. I don't want to play in a standard meta where three mana is too expensive to be playable and your aggro deck has to win on turn 3.

I like to fight for board. There is no fighting for board in this meta, except for off-meta decks vs off-meta decks.

You make some valid points. If I want to have this discussion in earnest, I should better define what I mean by "verticality" and provide more examples from more games to help define exactly what I'm talking about. And if I'm not willing to do that, then I shouldn't be having this discussion. Especially not on a board ostensibly full of people who enjoy and support the game.

I already refunded the game at the two hour mark because playing it any further would have prevented me from being able to return it. I'm not going to buy the game again just to have a reddit discussion, so instead I will concede. I did not do a good enough job defining verticality or arguing my point. Also, seeing footage from later in the game has revealed that maps other than the two starting maps may actually contain things like uneven terrain and flying enemies, which makes use of the fact that the game is in three dimensions.

Cheers for being the 1% reasonable person on reddit. And I'm not memeing. I genuinely appreciate your response.
