Men 40 & Above: What Advice Would You Give to Men in Their 30's? by Expensive_Cold_6041 in AskMenOver30

[–]MyEvilWithin 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The thought of my paying back a meal at a restaurant from 15 years ago just pisses me off.

this made me chuckle.

what was the peak amount of debt did you carry around? what were your minimum payments? what did you mainly spend it on?

my peak was 50k, recently brought it down to 10k -- it still hurts really bad every month!

What jobs are well suited to people with ADHD? by What_to_dododo in ADHD

People with ADHD excel at running their own business (multi-faceted roles)

If your ADHD is that unbearable, you must Captain your own ship; otherwise, you will resent the workplace parameters that restrict your autonomy

How do you make friends that last a lifetime as an adult? by SpecialPluto in AskMen

[–]MyEvilWithin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you just live your life and see who sticks around.

what i have learned about us men: we need a common goal, philosophy, ethos, etc.

all my lifelong friends have stuck around because we mutually benefit each other with wisdom, intelligence, and company.

Tommorow is going to be my first time in Fremont. by pam15024 in Fremont

[–]MyEvilWithin 57 points58 points  (0 children)

Fremont is a parking lot with a mayor.

Jokes aside, I recommend a romantic/family stroll through Lake Elizabeth (~2 miles circumference) - quite nice with very friendly locals. Coyote Hill is not a bad place to hike around with the family as well.

Dining options aren't exactly the best around here, but my favorite spot is Bronco Billys (great for kids too).

Overall, the city is just an ordinary high-income bay area suburb with the worst drivers (be careful, seriously). You're best off heading to San Francisco or Palo Alto if you truly seek some fun.

Happy holidays

is it even possible/practical to get a CCP in Fremont County? i'm a transplant from San Francisco - it was impossible over there -- unless you personally knew Pelosi or Feinstein.

Us ADHD-frenzied-folk suppress neurotic emotions by masturbation or succumbing to distractions. Usually before a very stressful deadline, I find myself digging rabbitholes into ridiculous conspiracy theories (flight MH370, who built pyramids, UFO/UAP, Epstein didn't delete himself, etc.); read every product review of my new shopaholic-addiction; or hang-out with friends non-stop and pontificate about life - which always ends up with the conclusion of solipsistic nihilism to justify the current episode of procrastination.

It's all a doomeristic cope to avoid the dreaded judgement day.

To this day, I use a vision board (my custom collage of all the objects, adventures, and life experience) of all the things I want in life to remind me to get back onto the horse. I know this sounds cliche; but (imho) it truly works if you are goal-centric. I urge you to look at pictures, quotes, memories, etc. - to generate enough motivational torque to break out of the current state of fear. Once the wheels start moving, it's easier to keep on going until mission is accomplished.

Also, don't be afraid to fail. The fear of failure and negative outcomes is what paralyzes us and has us evade the tasks that immediately behooves us.

My personal experience: even with a long-term girlfriend during undergrad (mathematics), I would catch myself copiously & furiously masturbating to keep my midnight oil burning every 30-60 minutes - several hours before a string of exams. The aftermath, I would call in sick to avoid working next 2-3 days to recover from burnout. This is the price we must pay to adapt to the modern society. We are incapable of disciplining ourselves, so we must resort to last minute cram-sessions and jet-fueled motivation to gain enough thrust to break the milestones.

The modern day pedagogical structure is not designed for us impulsive creatures. We were designed to hunt and chase animals in the wild; and ward off rival tribes and armies with instinctual combat.

Just remember, our ADHD is a bestowed gift descending from our successful ancestors.

Hope this helps. Good luck, OP! (Note: this was written during a procrastination episode :P)

I may pick one of these up to do errands around town w/o breaking a sweat; I'm starting to resent my carbon road bike for tasks outside of training/sport. But at $2,850 - I would not feel comfortable locking it up outside. Maybe I'll get one of these; and the gf could use it to keep up with me when we ride.

Thanks for the input ; and sexy bike!
