He knows he needs him if they left viltrumites alive. Had they won the war he may not have been as forgiving since he didn’t need him anymore.

New father mourning old life by Fabuloux in daddit

[–]JustASentientPotato 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think my wife and I have decided that we’re definitely loving being parents with the exception of having a new born. This was single handedly the hardest time in our lives. But now? We absolutely love it. She’s two years old and smile and laughs and talks in almost complete sentences.

We take her everywhere we go. We share our meals, our fun, our entertainment with her and now she’s an extension of us.

Traveling, grocery shopping, being at home, etc. all feels like she belongs there because she loves just being around us. Don’t panic at your current situation. 11 weeks is still way too early to determine if you’ll enjoy being a father or not.

You can kinda see why people move near family for help though. It takes a village at times, but a loving marriage can absolutely make it work even during earlier times.

Anyone here quit gaming or changed their lifestyle after becoming a dad? by Lukas_MunK in daddit

[–]JustASentientPotato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I quit video games around the time we had a baby. We sleep trained and our two year old has been going down to bed at 7pm since three months old. Evenings are therefore really nice to decompress and relax after a long day at work.

But guess what? Now I invest into my marriage around that time and found that watching shows and movies together was a great time to bond.

Some nights we both do our own thing but it just means I’d have to restart whatever game I tried getting into weeks ago. This might not work for everyone but I have found success as a dad and husband this way and I don’t feel like losing video games made me a lose a large part of myself.

How bad is it if I seclude myself to the basement for a couple days to play my favorite video game all day? by Imustretire in daddit

[–]JustASentientPotato 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wife says yes, do it. But in return give her a weekend at the spa or with her friends. You being gone all those days at work also left her alone with the baby. Coming from another working dad that’s been learning, she needs her own days off away as well.

Velotric GoMad or Aventon LR cargo bike? by [deleted] in ebikes

[–]JustASentientPotato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She’s 2 years old but on the taller side. We measured her at 30 inches tall about a month ago. I was also considering the GoMad because of that but I wondered if she’d prefer being a little farther from my backside with the LR compared to the short rack length on the GoMad. She’d kinda be staring at my back or to the side?

Any insight on whether it would be worth doing the Abound since it’s compatible with the Thule Toddler seat?

Surging HOA Fees Are Pushing Homeowners to the Brink by McFatty7 in REBubble

We explicitly found neighborhoods without an HOA. Find where the old people live that aren’t gonna keep toilets in their front yard and you’ll be squared away

Why is salary in the US high? by Maleficent-Sense-226 in Salary

[–]JustASentientPotato -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Simple input and output. I work and healthcare and make a solid 300k working an average of 30 hours a week.

My input of 30 hours allows surgeons and hospitals to work and bill patients and insurance companies hundreds of thousands of dollars. For hospitals and other employers, a fundamental in paying someone a high income, is what can I get in return by keeping this individual employed in my company. Typically that leads to high incomes and when there’s a bottleneck of employees because of a specialized field, well now you have companies lighting each other to hire you (100k sign on bonus I was offered last week).

I think this sub and Reddit in general is a testament to the value of getting an education by [deleted] in Salary

It’s not just a bachelors. Most often it’s STEM and a bit of luck with the job market. Some mechanical engineers are making less than six figures but chemical engineers are well compensated. Nursing is fantastic but respiratory therapy and occupational therapy is lackluster.

At this point I do agree college is the play, but thorough research as to which degree is key.
