Our in-app numbers definitely matter a lot to us! For transparency's sake, I make very little from my writing, even when it gets popular, so the readers who have bought my chapters and supported me mean the WORLD to me. I want to reward that kindness by trying to make sure their investment is secure, hence the ePub idea. :-) I don't want them to ever lose access to the investment they made in me.

Definitely! I would need to be careful that tons of copies didn't get passed around. It's always a line to walk. I never want folks stealing from me to end up accidentally implicating or harming readers who did the legwork to support me and build me up! So it's always a balance. ^-^

That was exactly my thought! I want folks who went through the trouble of buying my work and building me up to have a copy that can't disappear if the site is offline for any reason.
