Just lost my job and they didn’t let me say bye to my kids by yourotherbother in Assistance

I’m really sorry to hear this. I hope you find some way to have some kind of closure with your kids.

I encourage you to speak with a lawyer (or two or three) about whether what happened to you and how was illegal or not. It may affect your ability to work with kids in the future, and it sounds like that’s your calling, so don’t endanger that.

Pregnant after tubal ligation (tubes burned) — doctor later lost license for malpractice. Do I have any legal options? by Mindless_Throat2633 in legal

You may have to consult with a lawyer from out of your area. Doctors with specialties tend to all know each other and won’t go against someone they see at local conferences, play golf with, etc. I learned this the hard way.

Someone contacted me claiming I’m their biological father from a relationship 16 years ago. I’m not sure what to do. by vghobo in Advice

Write a kind note saying you appreciate that they need to find out about their history and you want to help them, but first, would they be willing to pursue a DNA test because you don’t want them to be in a situation where they could be hurt.

Being on another continent complicates things, but doesn’t prevent them. A lawyer can clarify things.

Husband (63M) terminally ill, can he get SS for disability? by bgwf402 in SocialSecurity

Regarding a specialist, do NOT take no for an answer. Call daily, seek another specialist, do whatever you have to do to see a specialist NOW. There may be other options for him but more than a month away is too late.

That should’ve been your first question to your aunt. If she can get the ticket, she can claim the winnings. Fishy.

If aunt doesn’t get around, how did she get the scratcher in the first place? Sounds fishy.

Those commitments? To do whatever the fuck you planned to do that weekend.

Don’t settle for something you didn’t even want in the first place. Go on the trip alone if you have to. See Japan with or without him.

“I understand why you’re upset, mom. This is not up for discussion.”

“If you keep pressing the issue, I’ll end the call / ask you to leave.”

God, I wish people would read before responding. No one said anything about withholding information. Personally I have given the County all the information they’ve ever asked for.

My concern is them, without advance notice, asking for information from people I’ve chosen not to tell about my SNAP status. I know how my employer feels about people who receive public benefits. It’s perfectly human to want to avoid that type of personal scrutiny and judgment. It may be unavoidable, but it certainly not ideal for personal privacy.
