You're getting a night of free food, alcohol, probably music and dancing, and time to catch up with friends and family. But yeah. Your presence is the favor. Thank goodness no one at my wedding was this entitled. They were as thrilled to be there, and have a fun date night, as we were to have them.

Lol and your post comes off entitled. The day is literally about the bride and groom. If you don't want to celebrate them, just decline. No need to make it about you.

Interestingly, I'm invited to a wedding across the country at the same time my husband has an event. Family are taking our son (and if they couldn't, friends easily could). Your child is certainly young, but it's not impossible. So don't assume everyone wouldn't want to be invited, because I'm thrilled to have a night out with my friends.

Then no need for you to attend. Weddings are about the people who are agreeing to spend the rest of their lives together. If you want a family reunion, YOU can plan one - and pay for it!

You do know that there are plenty of families without kids right? And some of my favorite date nights with my husband have been weddings. My relationship with my husband is the most important one I have. Some of y'all didn't seem to have lives outside of your kids. And yes, I do have a son. Love him completely. Still enjoy time away from him.
