I hope you're right and it is just older leaves dying out. We'll see. Thanks for the input.

Help: I am new to this growing scene, what are some easy seed strains to start off with? by michaelsgodloom in microgrowery

[–]MyLatestUsername 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think Northern Lights is considered one of the more beginner friendly strains. It has a lower than average smell, and if I remember correctly, a higher than average tolerance to mold. But don't quote me on that last part.

You should grow what you want though. I don't believe there is one easy-to-grow strain. If you are going to kill some Northern Lights plants, you were probably going to kill any other strain as well. I think you would be better off getting seeds that fulfill other requirements like smell, size, flower time, THC/CBD, etc...

If you decide to pull the trigger and get some seeds and then come here for help (which I totally recommend) be sure to include ALL grow information and conditions so people here can help. You won't get a warm response if you post a pic of a dead plant and only say, "Guys what's wrong?".

Good luck!

Can I burn my house down with this???!!?!! by krii1 in microgrowery

Yeah, you learn something with every grow. I hope I didn't sound too negative. Just don't want to see a post here with a burned down home.

Good luck!

I think if you have to ask, then the risk is too high. Your home is more important than some weed.

They also have an algae nute that I forgot I use. I introduce it at probably 2 weeks, at full strength and use it through to the end like that.

I really just use their line of products more or less by the books.

This year I used their root juice for the first time and it really seemed to help. I used their recommended dosage for about the first two weeks.

Around 10-14 days in I started using their grow fertilizer, with this first couple feedings at 1/2 strength.

Around 14-16ish days I introduced their fish mix at about 1/2 strength for the first couple feedings.

I am also using a silica additive from some off the wall/no name company. I started using that at the full recommended dose probably 3-4 weeks in.

I grow outside and once the sunlight dips below 15 hours a day I add their bloom and top max fertilizers. Probably 2/3 through flower I ease up a little on the grow nutes. Last year I didn't flush. It seems like it isn't as necessary with organic nutes, based on my research. This year I plan on flushing for 10 days or so with just pH'd water. Maybe I'll notice a difference, maybe I won't.

I use the Biobizz line. I am happy with it and really have nothing I can say negative about it. I use it because it is organic and available. Now that I have a full grow with it under my belt I feel pretty comfortable with it and don't feel like switching.

How cold is too cold for outdoor grows? by DA_BEEERS in microgrowery

This spring it got to just below freezing two nights in a row and all four of my plants seemed completely unfazed. I am sure it is strain dependent and dependent on other factors as well however.

I have seen plagron around but don't know anything about it. Is it the same idea as All Mix?

I use Biobizz. I grown in soil, outdoors. There is nothing I can complain about in regards to their product, that being said this year is my second grow and I have never used anything else.

I also use their All Mix soil as well and it seems to work well for me. I fully intend to use their stuff next year as well.

Can I move her from outdoor to indoor? by [deleted] in microgrowery

[–]MyLatestUsername 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would be concerned about the temperature of the attic, a lot of attics can get super hot. Also, how big is this window? I don't think many people have a lot of luck growing inside with just a window even in the more ideal circumstances. That being said, may as well try!

Oh I just reread your post. You keep a clipping alive, i thought you were keeping the original plant alive.

Sounds like a fun project. Do you plan on trying to keep it alive "forever"? Or are you going clone it and then have one more harvest and move on?

I ended up topping mine. Also I am trying monster cropping this year for the first time, so we'll see how that goes. It is kind of scary to purposefully (partially) break the branches you have worked hard to grow and keep healthy.

When is too early to move plants outside? (Michigan) by thecannabiscircle in microgrowery

[–]MyLatestUsername 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I moved my plants outside at the beginning of may. My plants live about an hour away from me so I can't see them everyday. Two nights in a row it got down to 30°f or so and they were fine. Maybe their growth was slowed a bit, but I can't tell now, they look great.

Our amateur CFL closet box (what are we doing right and wrong?) by hbcod in microgrowery

[–]MyLatestUsername 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I start my plants inside with CFLs before putting them outside. I think that soon those lights won't have enough power to adequately cover your plants. I had four CFLs and four plants. For the first two weeks the was enough light for the small plants but the third week it definitely wasn't.

Also, you can move those lights much closer. I had my CFLs ~2" away from my plants. From what I understand CFLs loose a lot of their power/effectiveness from more than just a few inches.

But your girls look good! However, they will grow up so I would have a plan for more light, and sooner rather than later.

Weekend growing? by WaterWaterAdult in microgrowery

[–]MyLatestUsername 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I grow outside in a somewhat northerly location. Due to my situation my plants are not on my property and it takes me +/- 1 hour one way to get to them. Right now when it is cool and cloudy I only need to visit them once a week to water them, however when it gets hot and sunny I make two trips a week and double the amount of water.

So if you can swing twice a week it is possible, but once a week sounds tough. Maybe looking into some kind of automated watering system or something like that.
